Making a simple purse with 2 flip cover for my niece
Hello everyone
Greetings to you all in this community @hivediy and hive at large, I hope you all are doing great just as much as I am doing here. It's another beautiful day and I bring to you with great pleasure the cutting and sewing process of this simple purse with 2 flip cover I made for my niece.
I made this simple and small purse with 2 pieces of fabric and it ended up having 2 flip cover at the front and back with 3 compartments and a small handle to hold it.
Let me take you through the cutting and sewing process of this simple purse.
I measured and cut out 14 x 8" of the main fabric.
It was folded in two as I measured 4" downward and connected to the middle after which I cut it out on both sides. It was placed on the lining to cut out same shape.
Another 2 piece of 8.5 x 8" was cut out as well while the other piece serves as the lining.
Both were sewn together round leaving an opening where it can be turned inside out.
Both were turned inside out and top stitched round
Both were folded in two to locate the mid point.
The two pieces were placed together mid point to mid point on the wrong side.
It was sewn at the middle on a straight line stitch and folded backward.
I sew on both sides and used my hand needle and thread to attach pressing button to the front and back triangle flip cover.
This is the final and beautiful outcome when clip together with the pressing buttons on both sides of the front and back.
The purse now has two flip cover for each space and another space at the middle, I'm actually thinking of adding another pressing button to the middle as well to secure it.
I'm sure my niece will love this so much for her personal use.
This is really beautiful
