Hello everyone.

It's Monday and a new week, I hope you are all doing great on this beautiful day, it's another week @needleworkmonday to showcase our creativity for the week.

It's been a while a made a dress for myself using Ankara fabric, yesterday being the last Sunday of the month, it is expected for all unit members to put on native attire to church for the end of the month thanksgiving service.

Last week, when I remembered that Sunday was actually the last Sunday of the month, I checked my bag where my native were kept, I never felt like wearing any as I have worn all to church so I decided to get a new Ankara fabric for myself to make something simple with it.

On Thursday, I went to the market to get 3yards of Ankara fabric for about $2 and on Friday I started the cutting and sewing process.

At first, I thought of what to make with the fabric and I decided to make a flare gown with double flare sleeves.

Cutting and sewing process

First I cut out a 360° flare with my waist circumference and a basic upper bodice with a little opening at the front neckline.

The flare and the upper bodice were sewn together neatly with lining

Mostly, when making an outfit, the sleeves is the last part I usually cut out as the remaining fabric is what determines the type of sleeves I attached to it. Now seeing that I have enough fabric left, I cut out 180° flare as the sleeves and added a smaller one with 3" difference to make it double.

The sleeves was fully lined with a matching colour lining and finally attached to the armhole circumference after that, I attached a zipper at the back and my beautiful flare gown is ready

I made a belt with the Ankara fabric just to add more beauty to the dress.

Here is the outcome of my Sunday outfit I wore to church.
