Ecencials, we are announcing major changes on Ecency.com, with several improvements you may have noticed already when you first visit the site.

First, you can see the new "Conversations" section below, which will be accessed with a single click. Encrypted private chats and public channels are initial implementation of our Chats. You can start creating DMs and join public community chats, after creating chat key for the encryption. You can also find community channels simply by searching for community. We believe Chats will be start of connecting people more closer to each other. Beginning of the communications era on Web3. Expect more additions into Chats in coming month. Our goal is to bring you best chatting experience and flexibility to communicate with your audience, friends and communities.

Boosting posts are no longer available. Instead, you can take advantage of other Ecency perks, which provides more freedom. Additional boost+ use case introduced, obtain delegation immediately for your Points.

A new "Buy Perks" icon that directs you to the perks page can be found next to the search bar. This page provides a variety of familiar choices such as buying points, account boosting, promoting posts, and the new Boost+. Going forward we will be adding more gamification flavours into Perks page.

You will notice modifications to the menu and Navbar that make Ecency.com more user-friendly. You may see all pages organized into a single navbar, as well as changes to your profile menu.

Comment pinning, author of post can pin any comment to their content.
Bot comments are no longer distracting you from engagement. Signup page improvements and many more... 🚀🚀🚀

Creating chat account is basically creating chat key that’s used for encryptions. It is not hive account simple another key we call that chat key.

I see that people are starting to be robbed
former boost 150,000 points x 7 = 1050 points.

This DMs chat feature will take ecency to the next level. Just as you mentioned, it will be the start of connecting people more closer to each other.
The navbar looks so cool. Now it has everything.
I also like the account boosting feature. Though idk how it would work.

Does it upvote posts or ecency delegates hive power? not clear..

Boost+ is to get delegations with Points. Account boost is to get delegation with in-app purchase (credit cards)

I love all these amazing new updates. Chat is great, and Perks are easy to find, but my particular favorite is how you have cleaned up the comments on our posts by hiding bot comments behind their icons. It makes it easier to reply to comments and is so much cleaner!

Big problem I've seen is these chat places are wastelands. Having some AMA type events in chat instead of Discord will be a really nice start!

You are in same wave 🙂 Yes, that's our goal. We have few awesome shows/events happening on Ecency discord weekly and our goal is to offer them ability to host events on Ecency.com directly. Chats are initial step towards developing Twitter Spaces alternative essentially.

Awesome stuff! Looks great on desktop.

One piece of feedback: there should be some kind of tooltip or writeup on the perks page that explains exactly what you're getting from the perks. It is not clear what "boost" means (I used to some points to see what it would do), nor the differences between Boost, Boost+, etc.

Update not good for me because I can no more go to my "feed" or my "profile" in one click, it needs 2 or 3 clicks.
And icons are too small at the top of the page.

Please share screenshot about icon size, we will see how to improve them. With more additions, pages are getting too cluttered, we like simplicity for now that what we come up, in future we will see how to make it better and easy to access.

You can get HP delegation with your Points for certain duration, we call it Boost+.

I mean, I've got that new Boost+ is actually acquiring HP delegation in exchange for Ecency points for a certain period of time, but I'm not getting what "account boosting" actually does!?

Account boosting also does same only this time, with in-app purchase (credits card). So you can purchase HP delegation with your phone using credit card payment.

Is there a guide for dummies on how to set up the new Conversations feature? 😵‍💫

Import is not self-explanatory.

A public and private key pair? A chat pin? Why not call it a Conversations pin to stay consistent with the feature terminology? If already logged into Hive through ecency.com, is it asking for our Hive key, or a new custom key string? I didn't know I needed an ecency key. I haven't logged out in years.

The clean visual layout appears unintuitive what to interact with. Are people supposed to copy paste something here, type random letters, numbers, or what? The page is asking for a public key and private key pair, an ecency chat key, and a pin, yet there are only two entry lines.

Several people are asking if they need to create an account, probably because they don't know what they are being prompted to do on the import page.

Assume some people have never done anything like this before, and they like detailed instructions. 😅

Fair point, we will consider creating guide. Essentially when you create chat key, it is used for encryption and that’s different from Hive keys. Pin is easier to remember and that pin used to encrypt your chat key.

I just noticed the change. Can you tell me more about the Account boosting and Boost+?
Last time we can choose boosting a post (that is less than 7 days old) with our points for 1 day but now it seems that it is locked for 7 days?

Another thing is what is this Account Boost that require in-app purchase? Where can I read this information more in detail?

Account boosting and Boost+ both gives delegations from ecency. You use in-app purchase (cash) for Account boosting (30 days), you use Points for Boost+ (7, 30, 90 days).
