Coloring Easter eggs

Hello ladies! I believe this is my first time posting here. Today is Great Friday (our church still use the old, Julian calendar, so we celebrate Easter and other holidays in different dates than the west). As one of the main customs on Great Friday, today we colored eggs. During the years, we tried so many techniques and did many colors, some were good, some not so good. Some were also not so eatable, and eggs would be colored under the shell. But since last year, we decided to try out only natural colors. My grandma traditionally does eggs in bulb, and my mom use neutral ingredients to get all the colors.

In the morning, I collected different types of weed and leaves for coloring in the bulb. This is not so hard since we have so many different plants in the garden, and my grandma didn't do too many eggs.

Leaves are put on eggs, and eggs are put in a woman thin sock. This way the sock will hold the leaf, and the rest of the egg will be colored.

For colored eggs, we used different natural ingredients. We got red and pink from beet, blue from red cabbage (yeah I know how it sounds), yellow and orange from turmeric, and green by making egg yellow first, and then putting it in blue (not mixing colors). Since you do egg by egg, this also takes more time, but eggs can be unique and different shades.

For this type of coloring, it would be best if you have white eggs only, if you want colors to be more vivid. We have white but also darker ones, so you can see the difference in shading.

After they are colored, we put a little oil on them to make them shine. And then arrange them.
