A monster rises from the mist....
About noon it was still Very foggy, and I stopped by golden pond to relax and eat a little lunch.
Then a monster began to rise from the mist:
Fog this late in the day was a surprise
Moving closer began to show definition:
This monster is huge!
Still in the muck:
This bodes poorly for driving today!
Now it is here:
Within half a block:
This is no tiny thing, hundreds of feet high!
All pictures taken within a quarter mIle distance. Golden pond that I usually photograph, is off to the left on most of these pictures! It was quieter than normal due to the fog, almost surreal. The fog is mostly burned off by now, but it's seldom this slow.
It was extra quiet and the relax time was restorative.

The first image in particular seems worthy of an SCP entry or creepypasta story.
You've awoken in a new place where the sky has fogged. You wander through an industrial zone in the middle of nowhere; surrounded by woods. A capacitor nearby buzzes with electricity flowing through the lines above you. The noise fades as you walk forward but the smell of rotting corpses saturates your nostrils. No matter where you walk, you arrive back at this same location. Feelings of desperation overwhelm you. Run.
You glimpse the thing through the mist. No matter where you turn, it seems to cut off escape. It looms impossibly tall, only a bulbous shape, but the terror it exudes always forces you back. And each time you run, it seems to stop you sooner than before.
I never considered running...most things run from me, ROFLOL! It did kind of pop out of the fog. I guess just too I'll tempered to run!
But if I were into zombie movies, I guess this would be a good set. Besides all the mindless zombies are in DC!

I would get my CC out with the spare magazines first. Then I'd walk out with my compass....
I'm not inclined to run anyway, LOL! Might build a large fire for a reference point, could burn off the fog too. But my EDC would get me through this....

It grabbed my attention, LOL! So I just had to take progressive pictures, as it appears from the mist. I especially liked it that the color on the sign didn't really come through until I was right up on it.

Yup, interestingly enough; that shape is a classic spacecraft design...the old atomic torch ship layout. So did it just land?

In Pakistan weather are almost same. Government decided to give winter holidays because of fog.
That can be a real problem if it's cold enough. The fog, at ice temperatures causes ice to form on everything, you're better off at home, they made a good choice!
