Loneliness is the poverty of self; solitude is the richness of self. ~ May Sarton
Being alone doesn't necessarily mean you are lonely, unless you are, of course. There are times when I need to be by myself, alone, spent in solitude, if you will. It gives me time to organize my thoughts, perhaps my life, or work through some things. I have never found a better place to do this than stepping out with Mother Nature.
She doesn't judge me, she is wonderful company and soon, We are headed through the neighborhood to the forest the joins the neighborhood on one side.It didn't really snow, but, Mother Nature threw a few flurries out, so I wore boots. Just because. I don't get to wear them much here, so any excuse will do.
I dial my brain down a bit and notice that the little things become more significant than usual. It has always been the little things in life for me. They are little characteristics that you may show from time to time, an event that is uneventful, but, memorable. It is part of how I remember people, places and things in life.
It's how I remember you.
The leaves are still hanging out, making them more noticable when they are few and far between. The veining stands out, more ennunciated, you cannot possibly ignore it. Nature is so lovely every day, at all of her stages.
My thoughts are as winding as the path, it is so easy to reflect on me and my life when you are out here. It is peaceful, I can hear the forest life moving. The silence has broken, and it is all my fault. I watch a squirrel, but, he is too quick for me. Hey! Slow down, you going to fast!
Today is a #BeautifulSunday by @Ace108, where we share our day in the most possibly beautiful way that we can. How can one refute the beauty of nature, spending time, just her and you? It is refreshing to my soul, to be honest...I am having a wonderful day, a definitely #SublimeSunday in the making, by the Meister of my morning, @c0ff33a. I do love my @c0ff33 and he likes eclectic! A definite match, made in heaven.
I want to thank @ace108 and @c0ff33a for hosting these fun challenges! Check them out!
When you don't sort your thoughts, I feel like they take on a life of their own, sort of like a fungus, growing from within. Take the time to get balance in your life. Time for you. You know how you make other people's day? Exactly. A little self indulgence goes a long way. I take the time to get in touch with myself and sort my thoughts.
I always worry when I see this on a living tree. I was thinking it was in the polypore group and now I am curious, so I looked it up. I shouldn't have. Sometimes ignorance is bliss...other times it is just ignorance. Perhaps someone with #fungus experience would know?
Perhaps one of the greatest merits of the polypore group is their importance within the decomposition process of dead and living wood (i.e. trunks of trees, fallen branches, and sometimes leaf litter) which in turn helps these mushrooms to fulfill their nutritional needs (saprophytic). In living trees, the presence of a polypore can often signify the beginning of the death process for trees as the mushroom’s mycelium (strands of hyphae slightly like roots) slither into the heartwood of trees to eventually produce a brownish-red rot. You can find this and further information from this source
It is an incredibly beautiful day.The sun was shining and we didn't get the snow promised. I would call that lucky and a great reason to be happy.I like snow, but, not on a Sunday night.Tomorrow would be okay. Can I make an appointment for that? Want to feel great? Get in touch with yourself and invite Mother Nature along. You can never go wrong with that!
It is hard to tell if they are unhappy or merely resting on the ice. They have been walking around on it all morning and it is beginning to melt slightly.
Dear Canadian Geese,
Shouldn't you be migrating further south where you don't have to pretend you are a penguin, enjoying the ice? I'm pretty sure your feet get cold.
Sincerely yours,
Denise ❤️
All I have are my words, armed in my mind, written in pen, stand by stand. Oh, yes. Still by hand. It has a different feel. Altered not by keys, backspace, and delete, I write, erase, tear it to pieces and start all over again. And again.
It’s my way. I walk out to the deep end of the page and dive right in.
It never takes much to make a little happiness. It takes even less snow to get some joy out of the day. Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a great start to your week! Enjoy it! And just like that, this post is over! I forgot the flowers, so my feelings won't be hurt if you leave me some. #alwaysaflower! Goodnight from here!
The Naming of Cats
The Naming of Cats is a difficult matter,
It isn’t just one of your holiday games;
You may think at first I’m as mad as a hatter
When I tell you, a cat must have THREE DIFFERENT NAMES.

Back when I was able to walk around outside, I loved going to check the mail. The above was the view heading up to the mail box. You are also correct; being with Mother Nature, is always a wonderful visit.
Conversely, being alone doesn't mean you don't like people. It's just a way to help you remember why you do like people. Beautiful photos, inspirational message... and of course, a wonderful #thoughtfuldailypost, as well as #sublimesunday and #beautfulsunday
As for the fungi... not sure, but know fungi are becoming very popular for their natural medicine properties. Do you know @Mondoshawan?

It going to be a wonderful week!
It doesn't take much to make me happy.
Hahaha... 😍
For you and me, it is always a fantastic week!
Isn't life just fabulous?
And the surprises it brings!!!
Every day's a holiday with Mary... :) That is just what I feel like. Every day is a gift, a holiday, filled with little surprises.
Exactly.
Hmmm... sometimes, we just have to look for it!
Sometimes it comes during the last hour.
SURPRISE!!! Hahaha 😍😊
Mother nature is a great place to be alone and I think everyone needs some time alone every once in a while. It's a good way to recharge and like you said, organize our thoughts.
The Canada geese should take your advice to go further south. It looks cold 🥶
It really is, time stands still as you wander the paths in thought. It really does recharge and this morning, I feel like a whole new me. :)
It was cold. We never get that cold, well... that is a lie. It is more normal to be warmer though. We rarely get ice! I am sure they were surprised. I have been keeping the birdfeeders full, those poor left-behinds... I usually stop feeding the birds nearing the end of the season as they will stay behind if there is a food source. I have already seen some that have gotten too cold and sat there in the snow, freezing to death. :(
Nature can be cruel at times.
Beautiful post
@nicolasbernada I know you are fairly new here, but, I will give you some fast and easy advice. You will likely not get many upvotes if you write beautiful post, good post, or things like that. It usually means that it wasn't read.
Genuine interaction is always rewarded on my post. I say this not to embarrass you, but to help you on your Hive journey. If you need help with anything, feel free to ask and I will try my best or direct you to the right place.
I give you a pass this time.
~ Denise
I think trees usually don't get detrimental damage from other nature. Maybe more from human and forces of nature.
These actually only grow on them if they are dying and help expedite the process. They don't go in and kill them, you are right.
Hi, Ace! @ace108
I love how you compose your article, it's unique.
Yeah sometimes having some time alone can be refreshing to the body and the brain.
If I'm to relate this to my life as a blogger, one example I will give would be the day that I am so occupied trying to deal with this and that, the more this goes on, it just make me feel stressed and my brain at times doesn't favor me during that period, that is the reason why I create the chanced for myself to be alone and be refreshed. More like sorting my thoughts as you said.
Ma'am, did you take those beautiful pictures of nature yourself? They are a beauty to behold. Nature is beautiful.
Here is a flower for you
Jonas Kakaroto
Do have an amazing week ma'am.
Oh, yes! That alone time is so refreshing and gives me a boost, usually offers me up solutions to things going on, although not a given, and sometimes the space allows me to follow a different path. I want to thank you for taking the time to stop by and leave your words.
My pictures are always my own, and on the rare occasion that they are not, I will source it right on the picture so the right place gets credit for it - and thank you.
Have an amazing week ahead.
I forgot to thank you for the lovely rose!!!! That was so sweet!
You are welcome ma'am 😊
After reading your beautiful blog I realized I haven't been alone in a very long time. I remember how I used to feed my sorrows with long lonely walks, if they were in the rain all the better. I miss clearing my mind, alone in nature would be even better.
I see you have perfect places to walk nearby, that's wonderful and... productive for a sensitive and poetic soul like yours. Once again, as always, gorgeous photos and a little trick? You wanted to see who was reading to the end? Here's my flower for you, it may be a little ravished but it is, like a miracle, blooming in my yard and now, on the last day of January! Christmas Rose.
Not at all! I didn't think of it that way, but, that is a great idea! :) No seriously, I asked for a flower because the post was finished and I forgot to put on in there. On a quick look, I saw nothing that would fit, so I suggested if they wanted, to drop one! I promise it won't happen often!
ON the other hand, these roses are incredibly beautiful! A Christmas Rose! You know I will have to look one up. How fortunate to still be blooming as if it were spring! I have to say that would truly make a #BeautifulSunday for sure! Thank you for the lovely flowers! #alwaysaflower Always by you. Thank you, truly, Dan! @bluemoon
Being in contact with nature takes away my sadness and eases my life . It is literally like a mother you turn to when in trouble.
Oh, beauty! You really hit a home run with these flowers! Beautiful! I wish you to find happiness, even though you are far away from home and those that you love. In some ways, it is a gift to be away from such hardships right now, and someday, you will get back to where you want to belong.
I say to enjoy your stay, embrace it, for now, it makes life feel better for you. When I lived far away from my family (I am actually living far enough away, but, in the same country) I used to send postcards and letters all the time. Sure, I can video chat, but, sometimes a written letter from the heart feels so good.
I missed them and then my father got ill. I understand you missing home, I really do. But, I hope you give us a chance to make your time here feel good and will always be remembered by you. xoxo Thank you again!❤️
I have really enjoyed my time here, despite melancholy. This is a WONDERFUL PLACE TO BE, despite solitude. Thanks for your words !Have a nice day today and always !
Loving nature goes a long way, nature seems to be the best gift mankind ever received.
Thanks for your write up 🌹.
Nature is a true gift from God. Nobody can dispute that. It amazed me every day. Thanks for stopping by and leaving your words. Have a nice day.
It really is a good place for personal reflection.
Interesting about the polypore. I usually see them on dead wood in the woods, but now I will have to pay more attention.
We still have honkers flying around. Perhaps they are too lazy to go south, or more stubborn or both perhaps.
