Hey, You! Walk this Way!

The sun is in constant motion, moving throughout the day when truly, it is the rotation of the earth that gives it the view. The breaking of day or the letting go at sunset, punctuated with surf and sand. Is there any better way to have your day? Time and location are relative to a predestined appearance. Just remember, position is everything.

I want to thank @Tattoodjay for hosting the #WednesdayWalk challenge! It is a challenge that allows you to share what you see as you walk through your day. Show me where you walked today, I want to see what you got to see and hear what you have to say. If you want to do the challenge, drop him a link on his #WednesdayWalk post so he can try to visit yours! Whatever your day looks like, it is worth a walk-through. You can't always have sunshine and rainbows, but, you can always have a #WednesdayWalk!

It is the break of day, once again, and I am already draped in the humidity that is hanging out with us today. Perhaps I will invite it to walk with me. The kids are already splashing in the tide that is rolling in, wetting the towel I threw on the sand. I think I need to be walking! The day has begun.

Covid found me walking religiously for the first year. The second-year had me slacking off, I cannot even tell you why, but, I am back in the habit again. Are you in a slump? I was and had to force myself to start again, and once I did that, it was almost immediately better. I just kept it going. I have found that I am a weak soul! If I stop, I start cheating with myself. So, rain or shine, I get out! I know! What a little cheater I am!

0P2A9382.JPG

You might not be able to tell, but, those are horse hooves. I am on the Assateague National Seashore and those are horseshoes. two of them, the other is a hoofprint from one of the wild ponies that live on the island. It is one of the Chincoteague Ponies that live on Assateague Island. You can tell if it is wild as they don't wear horseshoes. They are wild and don't get everyday personal care, but, even if they did, they go barefoot. I have one of the Chincoteague Ponies and he has always been an easy keep. :)

We are making good time down the beach, taking front and center. The slight breeze keeps the mosquitoes off me. It is perfect weather. The bird is a seagull, but, he is running like he is a sandpiper. I never did see this one fly, he is running through my post first.

I never think to take pictures at the beach or down by the water. Probably because I am busy and most likely I am with someone else. But, this time, I took a few shots so that I could participate in the challenge today. How about you? Are you up for the challenge?

IMG_8472.JPG

The time is early and there are kids out, walking along the edge of the water. That is usually reserved for people over the age of teenager. It is nice to see, it is not yet seven o'clock. That is fine by me! We can all go for a #WednesdayWalk! Hey, you! Walk this way!

A little Steven Tyler sure puts the bounce in your step, yes? I am skirting the beach, taking a shortcut through a parking lot, where I find a seagull on one of their favorite perches. I can go by there any day, any time and it is like a sentry, guarding their post.

Beyond the parking lot is salt grass where Chincoteague ponies can be seen grazing on it. It is more normal for them to be out in the swamps, where more cover is found. Their diet is made up mostly of salt marsh plants and brush, one of the reasons they graze all day, meeting their nutritional needs.

0P2A9417.JPG

I pass a small set of docks hoping one of my friends got back from kayaking, but, not yet. That just gives me more time to walk up and down the beach. Do you like walking on the beach, or do you like to have more variety in your walk every day?

Speaking of sharks... Were we speaking of sharks? Well, speaking of sharks, I can remember in 2019 they found a great white shark off the coast of Chincoteague Island. The beaches were empty for about a minute and then decided that it was a freak of nature that it was here. Truth be told, they have found a few sharks, but, they are far enough out that it doesn't make me overly concerned. What they mostly have are sandbar sharks.

IMG_8608.JPG

I have to say that everything is beautiful, in its own way. I choose to focus on the good, however small it might seem. I will take every ounce of goodness there is, then spread it around. Be who you are and walk your walk. I adore the beauty of our world, the uniqueness of nature, and the sacred scents of the earth. It is such a pleasure to join #WednesdayWalk by @Tattoodjay. And just like that, this post is over. Come back tomorrow and we will do it again.

Let us end it all with a few shamrocks and flowers. The shamrocks for luck and the flowers, well... to color my world. #alwaysaflower Have an amazing rest of your day!

All I have are my words, armed in my mind, written in pen, stand by stand. Oh, yes. Still by hand. It has a different feel. Altered not by keys, backspace, and delete, I write, erase, tear it to pieces and start all over again. And again.

It’s my way. I walk out to the deep end of the page and dive right in.

The Road Not Taken

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I -
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Robert Frost

Good morning from here! Is there any place better to start your day? Not today! I hope you are having a good one- and thank you!

One could re-search “the globe 🌏 earth theory”🧐 you were, actually 100% correct with your opening statement that: “ The sun is in constant motion, moving throughout the day …”

the trueness is right there in the words: sunrise / sunset

I'm not going to argue with that! Good morning from here! I hope you are having a great day out there!

It is a beautiful way to start my day!

i am not intending nor desirous of any argument; however, i am disappointed that you chose to “mourn” during the start of yOUR day; personally, i rejoice in each glorious new day, myself! so, perfect rejoicing to you, from beautiful Playas del Coco 🌴 🥥

...and, thank you for sharing the perfectly lovely photographs of the sun-rising over yOUR day! 💗

When we are enjoying the beauty of a place especially with someone taking pictures seems distracting but then hive is in our minds and we are compelled. Hehe

The second photograph is soo appealing to my eyes. The reflection of sun, a happy family and a bird flying over . The scene is joyful.

It has gotten easier to take pictures with the phone as opposed to a big camera, although to be honest, I still love my camera better. :)

I think the second is my favorite shot, for much the same reason. Thank you for stopping by and leaving your words.

Good morning from here!

I have to agree with you on that one. The sun, the salt, and the sand between my toes. Even if I see it every day, it still feels like a heavenly treat.

Good morning from here! I hope you are having a great morning!

It is a good day, although I have workers all over the place, but, they have got all the ceiling back up and put mud on it already. It is going to be better than new any day now! :)

Beautiful shots! It looks wonderful there by the water. My wife and I did quite a bit of walking during Covid as well. Mostly when we were both working from home. We would get up and take Jovi for a walk and the retreat to our respective work areas until lunch.

It was an opportunity that was just sitting there for so many people. I was surprised that so many people didn't use it, but, many stayed in the house. Wasn't that nice to break up your day at home with a walk together and Jovi too!

Thank you, that is over on the Eastern Shore of Virginia where I have another house. Sea, sand, and salt. I forgot to say that I have never been a lake person, although I lived near one. There can be things in those lake waters! :))

Not sharks though. I need to rethink that...

I've only seen two leeches in my whole life from lake waters. Pretty much everything else is meh. Jellyfish scare me more than sharks :)

I have had more leeches than that! But they were from rivers, so I guess that doesn't count.

I havecnever been stung by a jellyfish, but had a lemon shark brush my leg when fishing in the surf at night. Scared the heck out of me. My brother caught him, otherwise I wouldnt have known. Some things are better left not knowing.

It was little. :)

Thank goodness it was little. I remember seeing a jellyfish washed up on the shore down in South Carolina or Flordia when I was a kid and it scared the crap out of me.

Hi Denise, life remains a circus, the elevator going up and down with no end in sight.
Thanks for asking.
But all told I am as well as can be expected for a fat old man,
living alone with a rambunctious cat

Haha! He looks like a handful! :) You better get him neutered before he goes out jaywalking! Some poor, unsuspecting kitty.

I hope the summer is treating you well and you are staying cool! We had an unpredicted hot spring and finally got a bit of decent summer weather! Cooler than spring, but, perfect for me!

We've had very high humidity, not unusual, but there were some days when the heat index was over 105°.
My COPD has made me ever more sensitive to the air quality, so on those days the "ground level Ozone" makes it so that I can't stand being out doors, even in cooler weather like today, for very long.

I can't stand living like this, but I am grateful that I have an airconditioned house where I can retreat for naps... like now! 🤣

Wow! That is pretty warm!I don't envy you one bit!

Sorry that it has been pretty miserable and I am really glad that you have the air conditioner to make life a little more tolerable.

Naps!! :)

Now this is an absolute belter of an early morning Wednesday Walk Denise.
Did you dip your tootsies in the water?
I did see the hoof prints, riding through the surf would be a cool thing to do.
I remember in Spain, we use to have race meetings down on the beach.
Love this post:)

The photographs are stunning Denise 🥰 the second one with the seagull, the light, ocean and children playing. So beautiful.

In the beginning of the pandemic we stayed in (as I’m vulnerable) but later we got out for walks. We avoided people and went to places where none would be along beaches or in the countryside.
Walks are so good… we tend to forget sometimes to be active too. But are aware of it lately and picking it up again. As we are not as fit as before the pandemic.

Most of the time when we are out and about I’m taking photographs, but some days we are just enjoying the precious moments. In every little way. I did start collecting photographs for my art as inspiration or as later references. Still in that habit hehehe 🤭

Steven Tyler so adds to the moon and a walk 😎😁💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻

Exactly everything around us is beautiful… even the tiniest little things. Or moments…
Such a beautiful post 😊🥰🌺
Thanks for sharing.
Have a wonderful day further 👋🏻

Beautiful pictures, I do not know if you know what they are but the photo with the bird on the edge of the water looks like sandfleas by him. It is the 4th photo down. It might be shells but looks like fleas to me.

YW, and thank you for answering, sandfleas look like that when the wave goes back to the ocean.

I know exactly what you are talking about! I have seen them before and are not overly uncommon here on the Atlantic seaboard. Despite their common name, sand fleas are not at all like the common pesky fleas you’re used to hearing about. So what is the only similarity between true fleas and this small, sand-loving crustacean? Their jumping abilities.

Other than that, they are pretty harmless.

They are not even real fleas!

I am a commercial fisherman and freeze them to use for bait. In some countries, people eat them. Not my cup of tea. I am also on the east coast, Fl.

I am a creature of habit for sure and my daily walks are often in the same local, out my front door, but I mix it up with woodland and field depending on the season (High summer just now I'll avoid woodland for the mosquitos) but always the shore. our own rocky beach as well as the sandy shore in walking (or swimming distance) sometimes swimming from one side to the other of our little harbor is part of my walk, that's the benefit of warm Summer days I suppose. Wonderful #Wednesdaywalk.

Everything is good on this end! I'm really making it a point to enjoy the summer weather. Still waiting for the Tesla but I'm getting precariously close to the beginning of my delivery window (Jul 25/Aug 22). My fingers are crossed that they don't move it back again. How are you?

I'm good, although all this meetup talk is making me a little jelly. We will never see you again once you get your Tesla, yes? :)Take THAT to the meetup!! :)

I hope they don't roll it back anymore. I have to wonder about the ones before you... I wonder if they have gotten them. I'm excited and it is not even mine!!!

Fingers crossed1 Definitely!

Yeah, I know, the excitement of it is contagious. I still don't know if we're going to be able to make it there.

Haha, I do already have one road trip planned (to Ohio) after I get the car. Speaking of the all-elusive delivery date, I found a Reddit page that helps customers who've ordered cars track deliveries. You enter your info into this spreadsheet and it helps you figure out when you'll get yours based on the activity of other orders of similar models/configurations/and dates. So far there appears to be no logic behind how they're doing it.

The Model 3 I ordered, Long Range AWD, is being delivered in as quickly as a few months to close to a year and I guess it just matters how lucky you are. I'm already nearly four months out from my order date and have been looking at my options incase the date is pushed back further. I would lose my $250 deposit if I cancelled my order but if the wait is much longer I'm going to have to make a move into a different car.
