Flowers in her Hair, Flowers Everywhere

You drift into thoughts that are deeply hidden within, wishful thinking you bring to souls who lost meaning in the seeking of it, as life flows through the rhythm of your words,

dogwoods.JPG

I embrace the beauty of life through the eyes of the season because perception is everything, I can hear the symphony of life shouting out as the days pass into the sunshine of life. And so it shall be. I hope that all is well with you and yours.

What will you do while you are patiently waiting for your turn to bloom?

IMG_9548.JPG

I like to walk through the woods as it starts to bloom, taking in nature and life. What better way to document my day than to take a walk through life? It is so hard to not be in love with this time of year. Everywhere you look, there are flowers. In the trees, on the ground, climbing, hanging down. I have found a few new things to tuck into the garden this year. I am all about variety in my garden. I need another bleeding heart plant this year, one of them did not come back. It happens, but, not usually to me. I have to wonder if the surprise freeze had anything to do with it, or was it just its time?

IMG_9586.JPG

Isn't nature amazing? I look around, slowly, taking it all in. It was raining blooms last night, the wind taking them down, before their time, and yet...the beauty is stunning. Once more. Flowers in her hair. Flowers everywhere.

IMG_9573.JPG

Do you plan out your garden or let them speak to you as you wander through the garden shop? I think mine mostly apeak to me and yet, there are some I plan, their beauty captured my imagination somewhere in life. The delicate blooms or the roses my mother gave me for my new house. There will never be another rose quite the same. Pieces of my life, my garden holds so many of them. How does your garden grow?

IMG_9395.JPG

Welcome back my friend, your absence orphans the happiness of many, myself included. Oh, Spring, I have missed you! You have truly lived in my imagination. And just like that, this post is over. Come back tomorrow and we'll do it again!

All I have are my words, armed in my mind, written in pen, stand by stand. Oh, yes. Still by hand. It has a different feel. Altered not by keys, backspace, and delete, I write, erase, tear it to pieces and start all over again. And again.

It’s my way. I walk out to the deep end of the page and dive right in.

Lines Written in Early Spring

I heard a thousand blended notes,
While in a grove I sate reclined,
In that sweet mood when pleasant thoughts
Bring sad thoughts to the mind.

To her fair works did Nature link
The human soul that through me ran;
And much it grieved my heart to think
What man has made of man.

Through primrose tufts, in that green bower,
The periwinkle trailed its wreaths;
And ’tis my faith that every flower
Enjoys the air it breathes.

The birds around me hopped and played,
Their thoughts I cannot measure:—
But the least motion which they made
It seemed a thrill of pleasure.

The budding twigs spread out their fan,
To catch the breezy air;
And I must think, do all I can,
That there was pleasure there.

If this belief from heaven be sent,
If such be Nature’s holy plan,
Have I not reason to lament
What man has made of man?

Now I wonder what it is like to be a tree. Standing in one place, often for hundreds, sometimes for thousands of years. Interesting aspect. How they feel, what they feel, what (do) they think, etc. You can really drift into thoughts thinking about this.

It would be an interesting life, but, my roots would get tired standing on them all day. I have to think that the stories that they would be able to tell would be interesting and even historical in some.

Oh, the life of a tree.

Your dogwoods are out already? Wow!!! Love those purple blooms in the woods. Surreal.

(BTW a little typo on the poem title:)

My dogwood is barely out, Pryde! These were snapped further south, where they are out in abundance! I probably should have put that!

Thanks for the heads up, I fixed it!

The purple flowers are called redbuds. They have red buds before they bloom purple.

My redbud has just begun to bud, too. I grew it from a baby - it was little more than a stick when I first got it, and I had to tie it up to keep it from falling over all Charlie Brown-like. It has lost a few branches in the following years, which I have kept much like lost baby teeth, but I've sliced them up and carved a set of chess pieces from them.

I assure you, the wood from a redbud is not soft and easily carvable.

Do you see the above picture? It is one of the redbuds in my yard. It is just starting to bud whereas the ones in the woods surrounding the house are blooming. Everything is so inconsistent this year!

It was a two-foot stick. I had to tie it up! It totally died after the first year, which was a heartbreak, but, the following spring, a rogue piece sprung up from the earth and became what is our tree today. He is not big, but, he has many branches and we can officially call him a tree! I love your tree's story. I hope you use it someday. It is such a beautiful story of nature and love and making life interesting...

I never knew it was hardwood. :) It figures.

I love gardening and once I had one, but right now I'm living city life and unable to communicate my plants I had in my garden once. Very nice blog as always 💗💕❤️

I love gardening. When I lived in a city, I had a couple of small plants inside. It helped a little. :)

The plans of mice and men and gardeners! I prefer to let the gardens decide. They know better than my best laid plans. Are flowers not the most beautiful of crowns?

They absolutely are! If my garden isn't happy with what I give her, usually there is a failure to thrive- most times I see it and move it to a place that seems better for them. After all these years, I have finally figured out that Mother (Nature) knows best!

Hello @dswigle . Spring is here . Still with some snow and hail from time to time. However, you can already appreciate the blooming of some flowers (I must learn the names, I confess). Yes, as I have told you in other occasions, here, due to the four seasons, it is easier to pay attention to the change in nature. It is so impressive, the changes of colors in the vegetation, in the sky, and in the environment in general. ,

I don't know all the names, I truly confess! I wish I did, but, there are so many! I know you are from the beauty of Venezuela, warm all year, but, it is the four-season I love! I love the change, as each time it moves season, there is much to appreciate in the coming and loss of another. I do love the warm, but, to visit. (sometimes I wish I could visit longer!) The changes are amazing, but, there is a lot to be said for never having to change your wardrobe. I lived in Florida for a year and always wore light clothing, It was nice too. :)

Spring is here! You are right!!!

Yes it is my Double Delight.
But how strange that the shoots are so long, hehehe 😍
I'll cut them down after it is done with its blooms.

That is unusual. Your roses are growing tall could be because they aren't receiving enough equal sunlight, or they haven't been pruned recently enough.
