PALnet's Flaw: Largest Stakeholders Nerfed

avatar

What will PALnet do without large stake influencers? They've chosen not to airdrop anyone that does not really participated lately. This targets the largest disinterested stakeholders, which is most of them.

Excluding this group of disinterested stakeholders means that it is, instead, our responsibility to provide new users with a friendly environment.

What's next? Reward people who care about the platform? Where will that lead us?

The STEEM Power based front-ends rely on disinterested stakeholders showing up once in a while and throwing their weight around. This allows the interested parties the freedom of being inconsiderate because high drama gets the attention of disinterested stakeholders ... sometimes.

And when it doesn't, it's still good practice. Why bother being considerate, anyway?

Sure, taking a few seconds to be respectful toward someone about something they care about doesn't sound hard. But if you talk to hundreds of people every day and they all start expecting that same consideration, it could potentially add up to MINUTES wasted. And for WHAT?

I hope this huge flaw is addressed as some point.

Rewarding engaged Steemians, this project is doomed to fail :-/ Thanks for addressing this issue!

Be Considerate? Show some interest in those who are interested in your project?

Sounds like a slippery slope!

I'm just curious if certain things will work.

And once delegation works for SCOTs, @dramatoken should get even more interesting. I plan to delegate PAL and WEED. But I bet @dramatoken won't be very useful for WEED. They're so chill.

Is DRAMA going to a staked model anytime soon?

I'm out of the loop with PALnet could you explain your sarcasm?

I remember seeing something about changing the community upvote service but I never really looked into it.

I was literally too lazy to click your Palnet link when I wrote the comment... so they've made a frontend... that's cool.

Oh... and they have their own token... wow you look away for a while and look what happens.

Yeah, not just a front-end, though. They pay in PAL tokens as well as Steem tokens. This posted originated on palnet.io, actually.

The sarcasm here is that a whale with huge amounts of STEEM Power are capped to 2,500 PAL. So their influence is diminished on palnet.io. It's basically an implementation of the spork idea.

I'm still not clear on what you have to do to get your PAL tokens. Perhaps I am simply not considered a good steemian after 2 1/2 years of posting every day and spending hours on the platform every day. I hope they really do eventually AirDrop all of the active people.

@inertia - I am excited to watch this development unfold. Always amazing when you are involved at the beginning of a process. It should be interesting to see how distribution pans out. There will always be people with larger stakes than others. At least for now, most of us are starting at about the same level.

Having being around Steem for over 2 years, it is both refreshing and a bit jarring to have to start over with influence. I think it is a good challenge that we should all engage in. Helps remind us what it is like for the newest members of our community.

They nerfed some accounts that are actively supporting people, too. I have a few accounts, some got tokens, some didn't. The biggest of course is @steembasicincome, which did get tokens, but only in the main account. All of the secondary accounts were nerfed (and main account did not get full limit - which means the program as a whole was nerfed - getting distribution for 48k SP held instead of 65k SP, even though maximum was supposed to be at 60k).

If they want to cut off the influence of subscription services, that's their prerogative. I just wish they were honest about it. When I talked to them yesterday SBI was at max in sheet and they said multi's being removed were known bad actors from MSP's internal list. I did not specifically ask about the other SBI accounts, because the main account was showing at max distribution.

SBI is a known bad actor? The program has delivered over 700,000 votes, and more than half of the active accounts receiving regular support have never sent a single STEEM for the support they receive. Instead they were sponsored by others that were motivated by our incentive structure. Incidentally, SBI staked the tokens to continue supporting members that choose to adopt PALnet. If we had sold our PAL instead, the market would have crashed even harder than it did.

Joseph you are free to come chat with us in discord or message anyone if there is an issue. After the claimdrop we would like to give out the remaining palcoin to people/accounts who were missed and are doing great things. People have one month to claim before we can evaluate so just drop us a reminder and we will see what we can do.

Lol... The bold text is from me. Rest is AI. How funny is that? :D

I really need to read more about STEEM. I was not thinking about it for so long but now I understand how it works and everything that goes with it and why it needs to be supported to be successful, because otherwise it can't be. I'm going to give STEEM a go now that I have a firm grasp of what steem blockchain works."

Steem is currently the most popular cryptocurrency. As well as being the digital currency of choice for many, digital currency experts, digital asset investors and many other parties use this digital currency to purchase various goods and services using digital currencies.

So which one of the alternative cryptocurrencies is the best?

Steal it back again for cash

Helping people and doing things for others without expecting something in return. MADNESS lol

I started doing so a few years ago and honestly I haven't ever been happier. Being able to help good people and just show them support and blow their mind with a nice donation etc makes me feel good and makes me feel like when they have the chance they will do it for someone else.

It's a crazy world good people should be rewarded!
