This league is not based around financial rewards and relates to engagement.
Everyone currently on my master list has a chance here - including those powering down or dealing in delegations over the past couple of weeks.
I've used some metrics relating to:
- Posts (P)
- Comments - number of (C)
- Number of people spoken to (PS)
- Comments - replies to replies - depth > 2 (C R)
- Comments - length in characters (C L)
- Witness votes (W) (for those proxying witness votes, your total is always 30)
- Up-votes to others (V)
- Up-votes to different authors (U V)
- Self-votes - a small minus score for this one, sorry! (S V)

What happened? This is almost a 10% drop. Surely nothing to do with Wallet change?

Thanks for the shoutout and the kind words. Especially since you're the one who's been at the top. As I've been saying elsewhere, this feels like I'm warming someone else's seat until they come get it, so anyway. We just keep on keeping on and we see where it lands us. :)
I was saying he same when I was in the number one spot I was merely keeping the seat warm while I was there, To me the most important thing really is all the people I the top 100 its the interaction that is special on Steemit and makes it such. Wonderful community
It definitely is. And we all seem to have our communities and circles we run in too, which makes it even better. We get to come together once a week to see what's going on, and we may bump into each other throughout the week somewhere, but there's always many other people to see what they've done and so forth.
Let's see if this still works.

Yes it’s natural people tend to relate and interact more with people with similar interests for a good part such as Homesteading communities for some photography for me, art or diet there are so many interests on here,I tend to interact with a lot of other photographers or photo based blogs but also have many in other communities that I have good interaction with I find it broader and more real shallI say on here than on Farccebook or otter social media Platforms

I think you're right. Having access to everyone from tags or however people manage to do it is actually good, rather than needing from blog to page like you might on FB. I mean you can search and scroll through on FB too, I guess, but with the tags, it just seems easier, and then after that, you know who's active and who's posting compelling stuff.
re: eagle tokens
Not sure about the eagle tokens or how they work. These are engage tokens, that Asher created on Steem-Engine a while back and I guess he's got them capable now of being dispensed with comments. That just recently happened. You need to hold 1,000 ENGAGE tokens before it will work, and then you can dispense up to 100 at a time. There's a limit on how many can be given out each day, I believe, so if that limit is hit, there's supposed to be a message that says something to that effect.
One thing you may have noticed is I am terrible for making typos of course I did mean engage tokens, I. Did know about Asher creating them and that I had a few, I didn’t remember how you can use them but now thanks to you I must start giving them out from time to time
The way Facebook filters the feed sometimes Akers it hard to keep up with al that you may want to I created groups for family and friends that I check occasionally but I am nowhere as active on there as I used to be

I was all, "Hey, I moved up, 35 is good for me" and then I saw that there was a 10% dropoff and that's probably the only reason why, lol. Oh well, I'll take it!

There's a lot going on here and I haven't been here nearly as long to feel like I'm having that great of an impact yet, but who knows, over time, maybe there's something to be said for that. Which means, I need to make sure I keep going.
re: polls
I think explaining answers is important. I know plenty of people like to participate, which is good, but for a community to from around dpoll, there needs to be more engagement. I think Musing didn't quite get off the ground because of the lack of engagement, and I'd hate to see dpoll go down the same road.

I have a question. I haven’t upvoted myself ever, yet it I have 6 SV. I am on trails and wonder if that is where it’s coming from. Is there anyway to make sure I don’t have a self vote.

Ahh yes, the trail self-vote. A common problem for EL members.
You can always remove the votes later, but better for your VP and $ would be to not cast them in the first place.
Can I ask what your trail is that you follow? With 600 SP, I think at present your vote might be better cast manually. But it is your choice of course :)
My VP is always hanging below 50 usually at 44. I’m not sure of all the trails I’m on but seems to be a lot. Steem connect seems to be using my vote I thought I cancelled but didn’t make a difference in my vp.
I would like to cancel the trails and start fresh. Not sure how.
I try to keep my VP above 80 and although I do have a few friends set up on autovote (including you) I don't follow any trails. I like to make my own voting decisions. Do you use Autovoter to follow the trails?

Melinda, do you know of going through something like Steem Connect let the apps use my auto voting. I can’t uncheck it.
This comes up when i go to, for e.g, Steem Bounty in order to access it.
I do not think that is why you are on voting trails. @abh12345 can give you better advice on how to find which trails you are on.
I disabled auto voting from smartsteem and will see if my VP improves

I'm not sure what you know about them, so I might be telling you anything new. If so, sorry. :)
ENGAGE is a token that is exclusively found on steem-engine.com. One or both of the guys behind STEEM Monsters, I believe. So, various STEEM users have started to create their own tokens, and Asher is one of them. He's been trying to get the tokens into greater circulation, so now you can call them up via comments by using the the code I just used.
If the '!' is missing or ENGAGE is spelled any other way, it's not going to work. The next part is the amount you want to call to give out. Done right, as long as everything is functioning, the misterengagement account comes a long and leaves a comment saying the amount of ENGAGE tokens is now in your account.
To verify that, you go to steem-engine.com, sign in (keychain is the easiest way to do this, otherwise, name and private posting key). Then you should be able to see your token balances by clicking on the link to your wallet (if you have more than one on steem-engine).
Right now, the ENGAGE tokens aren't really being used for much other than rewarding engagement, but Asher is working on different ideas (like 'selling' his pie charts), to get the tokens circulating more.

Right off the bat, congratulations to the top finishers, and well to everyone really. Just look at those weekly numbers, each and every one of them on the plus side with the exception of one, and it is on the down side, but that is good. The downside is the number of self votes, nice to see all the others up, and that one down.
I think the winter doldrums are leaving us all, or have not quite arrives,(depending on top or bottom of the world). We want to share that new found glory, or last gasp of nice weather. I guess it could have something to do with the price of steem, but to short of a time to really get a cycle set.
Congratulations to both @glenalbrethsen and @tattoodjay, who strike me as winners by remarkably different approaches! And naturally, congratulations to everyone else who finished "in the colors" this week! It's awesome that we have these leagues as inspiration.
I guess I barely managed to scrape into the top-100, in spite of being caught up in the whole "minnow making" gig... although much of that will also be reflected in next week's league tables.
Not sure why there was a drop @abh12345, but I'm sure the "wallet issue" might have had an impact, but I'd also submit that there are more and more "DrugWars addicts" out there, who might have swapped posting for gaming... just a thought.

Yes the influx of games could well be the reason, plenty of addictive choices out there now!
As you see I stopped self-voting and now only alt-vote lol. But really I did it because I got onto the share2steem curation trail and my power would not stay up. But NOW I am hearing I should be voting all the way down to 50-60% for best curation results. I have always tried to stay above 85% for two years. Highly confusing, and something on my research list. TY so much for the boost and the self-votes are gone for good :)
Sorta defeats the object really but ho-hum, I guess I'll be removing this prize at some point as you are the 2nd person in two weeks to state this!

I was hoping to give the post my first twenty cent vote in a while, but I guess $0.19935 will have to do. :)
It was this week (as far as I can figure) last year that I first landed atop the Engagement League. So, here I am again, this year, back at the top for the first time. I don't know what that means, or if it means anything, but it is a cool piece of trivia, or Engagement League lore. :)
I'm finally seeing what it takes to get here, again, and in some ways, it seems more difficult than it used to be. I guess that's a good thing. :)
While it's impossible to say what the placements will be this time next week, I feel now as I did a year ago, that I'm merely warming a seat.
Without @janton and @melinda010100 in the mix, or without surpassing janton's high scores of 17,000 to over 18,000, it isn't really the same.
However, I am grateful for the STEEM, and the STEEM bounty, and both have been powered up to be put to good use.
Thank you, as always, Asher, for the leagues. As you can see by the other comments on this post, there are quite a few of us who are thankful to you for them.

I am not sure musing's comments count - the last I heard they were stored in the JSON, and not as a comment in their own right. Perhaps @glenalbrethsen shed more light.

The answer about musing comments is, yes, the comments definitely count. The problem is, as @abh12345 said, the characters, or the words you write, end up somewhere that doesn't show up when Asher goes to compile the amount of characters you typed. So, you'll get credit for the comments, just not the characters. To work around that, I've been copying what I wrote in musing and pasting it into the comment that shows up in your comment feed through Steemit or whatever UI you want to use. It's an inconvenience, but it's the only way I've found to have the characters counted accurately.
Oh... So it's like a double comment then? The original showing up in musing and the copy pasted comment in Steemit for example?
It won't show up as a double comment when Asher compiles the report, so as far as that goes, you'll be okay. What I've been doing is taking the comment that musing generates to say, "To see this answer on musing, click here", and then just pasting what I submitted to musing in that comment. It's the same one—it just shows up differently on Steemit or Busy than it does on Musing somehow. I thought at first it could end up counting twice, but it hasn't so far. :)
