Golden Hour Cat - The changing seasons and the feline mind
Golden Hour Cat
Is #Caturday still a thing? I used to post under that tag a while back, and this cat you can see in the golden sun outside the window has featured in it a few times. He's called "Whiskers", and is a mountain cat that followed his current family home one day from a walk in the mountain about half a decade ago. As it happens, having gone up that mountain a couple of days ago, I think I may have spotted his twin brother. This post, however, is not about cats, or even Whiskers, but rather about the golden hour and the preceding events.
At around noon, the sun came out, so decided to go for a walk in the "not-too-cold" conditions. Why not? The landscape was beautiful, the sun was shinning, the air was fresh. So set out into a meadow, which was surprisingly flowerless this time of year.
Ten minutes into the walk, a massive storm arrived that dumped a pretty impressive amount of hail, then snow, before eventually fizzling out into light sleet. The temperature also plummeted about 10 degrees due to the wind.
Not too long after returning to shelter, warming up with a hot cup of something, of course, the sun came out again as if to taunt. It's early-mid April. Of course that's the natural fluctuation as the seasons change from one to the other. It just happens to get me every time, especially when I'm in a land where the differences in the seasons are more pronounced.
So there he was, sitting outside the window, gazing into a beautiful sunset. I wondered for a moment, as I gazed with him into the same horizon, what could be going on in the mind of this cat. Do cat's have thoughts? I know they have instincts, but thoughts? Can they appreciate beauty?
Peace & Love,
Adé
This is a big question to ask. But l believe once they have conscience, it's okay to have some sort of thoughts. They are smarter than other animals making them uniquely pretty. Nice storyline sir.
They're so independent. They are more likely to survive in the wild than dogs or other domesticated animals.
oh ohk.
I think #caturday should be a thing. I ought to do more posts about our cat.
Cats are awesome. Let's bring back #Caturday!
Cats do have thoughts and daydreams, I’m sure of it! Can it be proven? Probably not!
It must be a wonderful thing, a cats mind.
Just imagine you could step inside the mind of a cat! Maybe the subject of an old fantasy novel?
