odds and Ends
I needed to create a bit of filler for a few shots of my new reel and this was one of them. I posted a work in progress version a few posts ago if you're interested. I could talk a lot about how I created this and it would sound like a Steemit Inc post talking about rewards curves, but with less sparkle graphs.
Particles are involved and something called temperature is driving other parameters like the particle scale and color. Just imagine I lit a match on a clay head that was covered in lighter fluid and said color these particles based on how hot this area of the head is, that's basically what's going on.
Now that I've got that "good content" out of the way, on with the shit posting.
I'm SO ready for this next hard fork. Not because I think it will be great or anything, mostly because I am super desperate for a change. I don't know how this thing will play out, but I'd rather it be pushed out and fail miserably than to spend more time standing still. I'm one of those people that would rather see things go down vs sideways.
It would be great if it worked. We could potentially keep our .40 cent peg. I think if we want to move beyond that Steem will have to start getting serious and maybe...doing some marketing??? 🤯
In other news,
I'm full on excited about Libra as I've learned more about it. I know, I know, evil corporation and all that, but it will probably take a while for them to pull whatever dastardly deed they have up their sleeve and in the meantime I think it will be great for all(most?) cryptocurrencies.
I imagine their wallet will quickly be accepted everywhere similar to Apple or Google Pay and if we can quickly and easily sell Steem or tokens here for Libra, that will give instant liquidity.
Imagine you go for a coffee and realize you've forgotten your wallet, instead you pull out your phone, sell some Steem/SBD/PAL whatever for Libra and within minutes or seconds you can actually use it to pay for your goods. Libra might make the end goal of what we all want here come a lot sooner.
Even though I don't trust Facebook, you know who I trust even less? Big banks and the government, so when I see them crapping their pants at Zucks announcement, I can't help but think it's a good thing.

Wow that looks cool -- I'm totally ignorant, what exactly do you mean by reel? Like a movie reel?
I'm also ready for the Hard Fork to happen. I don't really care which way it goes anymore, I just want some changes to be implemented so that we can start looking on to the bigger and better things than STEEM distribution on content. I think Steemit, Inc. would be wise to partner with Aggroed and Steem Engine and realize that STEEM needs to become a desirable currency for businesses not for content creators/curators... Let PAL and other tribal tokens become the desirable currency for users. Time will tell.
Also excited about Libra for the payment solution. I do have a Cash Card by Square, so I can buy things with BTC, but they haven't added the option to deposit BTC.. So I can't quite transfer my STEEM to BTC and spend it yet, but they said they're coming out with the feature soon. Have a great weekend Pal 😉

I agree with you. They were of course supposed to be the ones that brought us SMT's so I think they'll want to find their own solution, but yes, the more I think about it, and especially looking at how things are going on Palnet, Steem should do something similar, by having something like a claimdrop with better distribution of a new distribution SMT, and just have Steem be used for business development and investing in the greater ecosystem.

Yeah, they said they will continue work on SMTs... I guess it’d be nice publicity to get them going, but knowing the track record of Steemit makes me a little skeptics as to how great SMTs will be.. I mean, look at how fast Steem Engine made changes like decimal precision... can you imagine Steemit trying to make changes such as that on the fly?

I totally believe this libra will have a positive impact on the crypto space. Imagine billions of people joining the crypto world
Libra excites me most because it will be the most professional/seamless Fiat to Crypto mechanism we've seen so far :-) And yes, once in crypto it's easy to convert to other crypto, especially since other wallets will include Libra <3 Imagine that! Even if 1% of Libra users starts getting curious about BTC/STEEM we'll have a great great future ahead of us.
I don't trust Facebook, but I trust them to pave some ways for the success of crypto in general :-)
