The Flower Garden & Nursery // Twenty Different Species

1000221710.jpg

Greetings Hive Gardeners!
It's a pleasure to finally visit this amazing community with my content.
Yesterday we had a tour to the Flower Garden and Nursery here in my city.
And by WE, I mean I amd my colleagues
I went there with a few of my colleagues as part of our field work and course for the semester
There are various species of flowers and plants there and out of the numerous species, I could only identify very few.
I usually see most of these flowers and plants but I can't identify their names, my bad 😞
I guess it is because I have little knowledge about flowers and plants, but one of my colleague was able to identify a handful of them which made me so amazed.
Most of the plants there I don't know what they are called or their benefits and uses, so one of my colleague was the one that lectured us about some.

We had the likes of Cactus, hibiscus flower, sun flower, morning glory, Christmas tree, American waterleaf, Curry leaves, Nipa, Aloe Vera, and many others that I don't know their names.

The flower and plant garden were divided in sections, we had the flower section amd the natural plant section.
Among these flower and plants we had fruits like mango, pear and orange that are being nursed.
Most of the plants and flowers there are nursed and raised in poly bags while some are in flower vase and for some, the cement bags are utilized.

In this garden, we had butterflies and other flies perching on these flower, ofcourse we know some flowers are well scented and as such, aids in pollination.
Most of these flowers and plants had very strong fragrance that could leave a lasting effect if touched.

Some plants here are edible plants like the American waterleaf I mentioned, and even the curry leaves that are used in our rice and stew and even sauce for some.

We also have fruits like I earlier mentioned too, e.g orange, mango and pear.
So you could say this is not just a flower-biased garden but a general nursery for other plants as well, although mostly flowers.

Most of these plants and flowers are used as good ornamentals like the Christmas tree and others which I haven't mentioned.
The Nipa plants can also be used for other domestic purposes.
And some plants are consumed either singly or mixed with other edible plants

We have the American waterleaf that can be mixed with other leaves for varieties of soup. It was my first time seeing what the American waterleaf looks like, the leaves are quite larger than our local waterleaf and succulent too although not as succulent as the waterleaf we have here.
I don't know if there is another name or specific name for that plant other than what we know or identify it as, but all the same, I had a lot to learn from this little tour.

I don't know when next I will have the opportunity to visit another flower garden as this, so I seized the opportunity and took a few shots of most of the flowers and plants there.
And when next I get to visit another garden, I will do well to share with my Hive Gardeners here.

So tell me guys, how many of these flowers or plants were you able to identify in these photos?
And how many do you have over there in your city or country?

PS: All photos are mine, taken with my phone
