The Weekly Zekely - Food, Drink & Fun
I like to look back through the pictures on my phone and share with the #Hive community for inspiring conversation and gigantic crypto rewards.
It is a week and a half that has gone by but this is what my camera roll tells me I have been up to.
LANfest!
'A LAN party? I haven't done that in 20 fuckin years!' With internet bandwidth, gaming consoles and the playability of games across the web, it is no wonder nobody but the most steadfast nerds do what we do. Pack up your pc gaming rig, a change of clothes, some beer and snacks and assemble for a week of fragging.
This weekend, we got to do just that and it was glorious. Here, you can see 8 computers packed onto a table and the switch connecting them to the WAN standing up in the middle. So much fun to enjoy so much of everything in such a compressed time. It sounds probably like you would imagine and smells like something you most likely don't want to.
Dog Wars!
Things thawed prematurely this week, making the dogwars park into a mushy swamp. Still, the little dood needs to get out and have his fun. Almost every day, I try and jam an hour of walking around between a day of work and an evening of unplugging. At first, I did it for wifepoints. Then, I came to enjoy how much fun I was providing for fuzzyface. After about a month, I realized that walking around outdoors is about as close as you can get to actual living, and was probably as important as all the work I did during the day. When I talk about changing habits, an hour a day spent content creating and curating was supplanted by this. Now, I am working on fitting both into a fun and busy schedule.
International Food!
Last update, I had to share some food pictures from a social media photo shoot of a newly launched international buffet at one of our clients. With Valentines day this week, and the family's love for Indian food, we returned for another feast. I don't think my plate gets as colourful with rich, healthy and vibrant foods as it does at https://rajastratford.ca If you click that link, you may see we are having challenges with the point of sale plugin to the website and are trying to convince them to redo the website on a platform that is more reliable and functional. More work soon hopefully.
Mixing food and business seems to have been the theme of the week. I went on another client call to help with some issues and enjoyed a little lunch in the middle of it. Fries and fish tacos were as messy and delicious as they looked. There are benefits to having restaurants as clients to be sure.
The business meals did not stop there (or here for that matter.) We gathered with the local Multicultural association https://maph.ca for a press release. I will have to tell this story in more detail on the @town-crier marketing account but volunteers assembled to give the paper a story. The government is fantastic about declaring that Canada will be a safe place for refugees and immigrants but not so good at funding that sentiment. Small not-for-profit organizations with fantastic supporters and volunteers are bearing the brunt of welcoming newcomers but not given any financial support to provide homes from which to build a new life. Surely the insane housing inflation leading to a crisis isn't helping and it is time for the government to step up and help fund the promises we are keeping for them.
Fantastic breakfast with people from around the world who have settled here and are dedicated to help others do the same.
Beer!
I may have missed a recent #beersaturday but I am earning my stripes as a #beerologist. There is a potential for the inside track on a big local beer story but I won't count my chickens before they hatch. In the meantime, I have gotten back to sampling regional craft beer and will be back this weekend with my report for legions of followers.
Otherwise, it was a huge week for business and I am pretty excited for the developments which may come of that. Scaling up a business so that I can scale up the lifestyle so I can scale up the blog for the world to enjoy is a huge priority of mine you know! Tune in next week where there should be tales of Family Day and whatever else life throws at me!
Thanks for checking in and a sincere thanks to new and old friends for the warm welcome back!

Nice, pleasant things are happening to you. Cheers! 😎👍🍻
I like to think some of them are happening because I make them happen to inspire me to action. Either way, gratitude, even in small doses, is a component of joy which is what I am aiming for.
Wow, that's a great photo review!
Especially liked the first photo)

I figured my fellow old skool gamers might appreciate it. Looking at that photo, it doesn’t do a good job capturing the actual feeling of 10 happy people (or the smell!)
😜🔥🔥🔥🔥
I believe it!

You are participating through your visit to this story and engagement! That is good enough.
If it were not for the fenced in fields of the dog park, I would have to tug the poor little guy around on a leash. Tough for a flushing hunting dog that likes to run and roam and search.
How can you not enjoy watching a dog run and smile?!?
Before all the laws came into being over here the dogs had wonderful runs on the beach and in parks, leaving me to my device...., the camera. All gone to wrack and ruin now one is mowed around like a sledge!
Have an amazing weekend!
Looks like a solid and varied week to me. I must say I’m very partial to the hazy unfiltered ipas now. Sooo refreshing. @diveratt took me down to Tuckers Maltings in his home town of Newton Abbot, Devon and thats what I’ve been sampling. Off to Egypt tomorrow so I’m pretty sure the beer choices will be very limited for a few weeks……won’t stop me drinking whatever they have though 😂
Oh hell ya.
My third favourite beer is probably hazy IPA. So flavourful!
Second favourite is CHEAP and my all time favourite beer is LOTS.
Can't wait to follow your Egypt adventure!
Haha. Lots is mine too. Yup looking forward to this trip. Old pointy buildings and then some diving
Sakara Gold or Sakara Gold you can do a lot worse
