Wilt Chamberlain had to go through countless colleges and universities before getting accepted into the basketball team at Philadelphia's Overbrook High School. His offensive game was so brilliant and effective that he was highly coveted by different universities. He played two years at the University of Kansas and the following year he trained with the Harlem Globetrotters team, after which he began his career in the NBA as a player for the Philadelphia Warriors.

From 1965 to 1968, he was part of the Philadelphia 76ers team, and ended his career with the Los Angeles Lakers. During the fourteen years that he remained in the NBA, he scored 31,419 points, that is, an average of 30.1 points per game, and he managed to add up to one hundred points in a single game. His incredible scoring record earned him to be considered, by many experts, one of the best offensive players in basketball history.

There are those who affirm that the NBA organization came to establish new regulations that, in practice, implied a restriction of his skills as a scorer, so that his mere presence would not excessively unbalance the level of play. Few athletes have managed to reach the heights that Chamberlain demonstrated throughout his career as a basketball player. His record was valid until 1984, when it was beaten by the also the legendary Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
