Warhammer 40k - Unit Review Library 106 - Tyranids, Lictor
Hello everyone! Zak Ludick here from Cape Town, South Africa and this is a Warhammer 40k - The Great Unit Review Wheel! post!

What is it all about? It is not there to just give a stat. It is there to give MY review of the unit!
Also this has become quite the Challenge! With so many units to review in the game the consensus in the hobby community is that I will not have enough time to review all of the Datasheets before the new edition of Warhammer 40,000 came out.
I should have started when 10th edition launched!
418 days since the start of 10th Edition.
This is Review #106, I am 312 reviews behind!
Picking them randomly, let me spin the wheel again and see what I get:
Tyranids, Lictor
10th Edition Codex
A Lictor is part of the vanguard of Tyranid aliens that precede the main thrust of a swarm attack on a planet. They are seeded onto a planet in secret, a single spore falling to a remote location on a planet or stowing away on board a vessel.
While they are on a world they become an apex predator that hides its presence. It feeds and it collects information waiting for the Hive to arrive.
When the Hive arrives, it relays its information and leaves pheromone trails to tell other Tyranids where paths of access are.
This little monster is 55pts to field in a battle, the model costs $52 to buy!
Let's look at those stats!
Stats
Movement 8"
Toughness 6
Save 4+(armor/invul/Feel No Pain)
Wounds 6
Ld 7+
OC 1
Wow! Fast!
Weapons
Melee:
Lictor claws and talons
6 Attacks, Hitting on 2+, S6 Ap -2, 2 Damage each
Precision (meaning that he can allocate wounds to the leaders)
Abilities
Lone Operative (Can only be targeted with an attack if the shooter is within 12")
Infiltrators (This unit can be set up anywhere on the board more than 9" away from the enemy Deployment Zone.)
Fights First (Always Fights First in Melee, unless the Defender has Fights First too)
Stealth (Enemies -1 to Hit when shooting this unit.)
Pheromone Trail
Once per Battle Round you can target one model (Is this a typo? Maybe they mean unit) with the Rapid Ingress Stratagem for 0CP.
Feeder Tendrils
Every time this unit destroys an enemy Character unit, gain 1CP.
Thoughts
With all those abilities, the Lictor is in a good position to put it where it needs to be and attack Characters in most cases. If it gets into combat, there is a good chance of killing most regular level characters. There are some that are so tough that the Lictor might not kill them in one try.
Other than that, if the Tyranids have Reinforcements, you need to watch for that free Rapid Ingress!
That makes 4 Tyranids Datasheets Reviewed putting them on 7.84% Completed! The total Completed is 10.91% Complete! Can I review them all?!

The Lictor’s abilities are pretty cool. Its stealth and rapid ingress could really shake up the battlefield. Stealth mode activated hehehehe
