Fund Raiser - Helping a friend with funding for a Wedding!

This post is part of the current Fund Raiser where a friend has given me an offer to buy a collection of Warhammer models, the money will go to putting down deposits for his wedding arrangements.

I am collecting funds in the following ways:

• Blogging about Warhammer to earn HBD
• Accepting donations - Can be sent directly to @zakl.hobbyfund in HBD
• Selling some of the collection to friends

What is it all about? It is not there to just give a stat. It is there to give MY review of the unit!

Also this has become quite the Challenge! With so many units to review in the game the consensus in the hobby community is that I will not have enough time to review all of the Datasheets before the new edition of Warhammer 40,000 came out.

I should have started when 10th edition launched!
538 days since the start of 10th Edition.
This is Review #196, I am 342 reviews behind! (Lowest I have been is 314 behind)

January 2025 we are expecting Astra Militarum and Aeldari codexes as explained Here, so time to focus on THOSE Datasheets!

Astra Militarum, Chimera

10th Edition Index

The Chimera is simply put the standard go-to mechanized transport carrier of the Astra Militarum. Capable of carrying 12 models, this generally allows the player to put a 10 man unit plus some characters.

It costs a mere 70pts to field and costs $65 to field.

36" Range, 3 Shots, Hitting on 4+, S5, AP-1 and 2 Damage each.
Sustained Hits 1 (Rolls of 6 to Hit score an additional hit)

Chimera heavy flamer

12" Range, D6 Shots, Auto Hits+, S5, AP-1 and 1 Damage each.
Torrent (Hits automatically)
Ignores Cover (enemy units do not get benefit of cover against this weapon)

-Hull mounted Gun options

Heavy bolter

36" Range, 3 Shots, Hitting on 4+, S5, AP-1 and 2 Damage each.

Heavy flamer

12" Range, D6 Shots, Auto Hits+, S5, AP-1 and 1 Damage each.

Storm Bolter

24" Range, 2 Shots, Hits on 4+, S4, AP0 and 1 Damage each.
Rapid Fire 2 (At half range of 18", get 3 more shots)

• Other weapons

Lasgun array

24" Range, 6 Shots, Hits on 4+, S3, AP0 and 1 Damage each.
Rapid Fire 6 (At half range of 12", get 6 more shots)

Hunter-Killer Missile

48" Range, 1 Shot, Hits on 4+, S14, AP-3 and D6 Damage each.
One Shot (This weapon can only be fired once per game)

Melee Weapons

Armoured tracks

3 Attacks, Hitting on 4+, S6, AP0 and 1 Damage each.

Abilities

Firing Deck 2 (This vehicle can shoot with the weapons of 2 models that it is transporting)
Deadly Demise D3 (This vehicle can explode, dealing D3 Mortal wounds to each unit within 6")

Mobile Command Vehicle

During the Command Phase, one Officer model embarked on this transport can issue their commands from inside the Chimera, measuring from the Chimera

Thoughts

For a transport, this tank has a lot of guns!

For the 36" stand-offish option - 2x Heavy Bolters and heavy stubber, Plus Lasgun array at 24" plus Hunter-killer missile at 48.

Then stick an infantry squad into it with a Heavy Weapons team and a special weapon, so A Lascannon or another Heavy Bolter or whatever plus a Plasmagun or Meltagun.

Or you can put a Catachan Jungle Fighter unit into it an make a firebomb.

Chimera with Double Heavy Flamer, Lasgun Array and Hunter-Killer. Occupants with 2x Flamers!
Thats 2D6 S5 Ap0 D1 and 2D6 S4 Ap0 D1 shots at 12" Auto hit and ignoring cover.

All of this is amazing because this tank costs 70pts and is a dedicated transport meaning that you can take 6 of them in an army as long as there is a squad that goes with it! I say that is rather amazing because most of the important guns still shoot while they are protected from damage.

Use this to move up the board and take and hold midfield objectives. I like it!

That makes 29 Asatra Militarum Datasheets Reviewed putting them on 32.58% Completed. The total Completed is 18.76% Complete! Can I review them all?!
