Warhammer 40k - New Dark Angels incoming!

Good day everyone! Zak here from Cape Town, South Africa.

On Christmas, Games Workshop announced the incoming Dark Angels 10th Edition Codex. Of course this excites me - since they are an Imperial faction and I want it all!

I do own Dark Angels of my own and have been playing them only slightly less than my Space Wolves. The Wolves and the Angels are both loyalists but fierce rivals.

The set in the above picture is of their pre-release launch box. This comes with a copy of the Codex with a limited edition cover print, data cards, 2x5 Terminators, 1x5 Deathwing Knights and Belial - Master of the Deathwing. It also contains 2x Dark Angels Upgrade sprues.

This box is all Deathwing. Let me explain:

The Dark Angels army colour scheme is dark green, except for the 1st Company - The Deathwing and the 2nd Company - The Ravenwing.

The Deathwing have a bone colour armor to honour a unit of Deathwing saving their homeworld from a Genestealer invasion on their own.

This is the Master of the Deathwing, Belial who bears the Sword of Silence (I kill you!)

A brand new unit has been revealed as well - The Inner Circle Companions.

Finally... I must say I am tempted (as always) by this pre-release box set, but I don't know if I have the funds available to get it. I did some maths and while the set is NICE, I don't think its a major must-have if it is going to cost around R4000 as the pre-releases generally are. And... I do have other Dark Angels stuff that I still need to paint...

Another cool thing showcased was the upgrade sprue, which would become available on its own like the Black Templar one:

The Space Wolves codex hasn't come out yet right? Surely a box set will come out with that when it does? I imagine that'd be slightly higher priority?

At this point the Space Wolves are not on the forecast for 2024.

Who knows about 2025.
