Warhammer 40k 10th Edition - Hype and gnashing of teeth

All the new Warhammer 40k 10th edition Datasheets have been made available now for download on https://www.warhammer-community.com/ and there are hundreds of hours of Youtube Videos where people are analysing the faction abilities and debating which armies are the best or not.

But there are two key elements that are missing from these reviews which makes me feel that all their hours of work and theory are a complete waste of time.

  1. Firstly, there are no points costs for units yet. That gets released tomorrow but even then it will take some time for everything to really settle in.

We have a brand new core rule book, we have new army synergies for every faction and then with all of those factions thousands of games need to be played to determine if anything is truly overpowered and then... leading to the second point...

  1. The rules are all digital now. Any mistake or imbalance is corrected and re-released with wording changed. They have ALREADY done this when players noticed that certain combinations lead to exponentially crazy damage output.

The game is balanced via points and those are also expected to change and fluctuate as the new Edition settles in.

It is a game! Just have fun!

This is why my only focus is not just to play competitive tournaments. There is only one winner. But playing the game is fun. That's why I play it.

So just remember kids: Don't chase the Meta Dragon.

Thank you for reading!

Cheers!

That's the biggest problem I currently have with the game "Splinterlands", I'm so focused on farming "money" that it's more of a job than a pleasure. The frustration is even more when you lose all the time and have no more focus on it. The bot problem is then for me an additional fire accelerator.

For Warhammer I can say that the painting gives me the most joy, the play of course, although I have so far only played two rounds ;)
