The Busy Bees
Welcome everyone to week 18 of the Busy Bees activity group progress! I think that we have done some spectacular things with the Busy Bees. Not everyone is active but the people who are constantly active become massively successful and I wish for that to point out to people who are maybe a bit more casual in their posting on Hive that if you stay in it and stay busy, the honey will be there!

Ecency Points to distribute
Some community members have been sending me Ecency Points to distribute. They are as follows:
@papilloncharity sent me 10,000 Ecency points.
@melinda010100 sent me 20,000 Ecency points.
@alonicus set me 20,000 Ecency points.
Total: 50,000 Ecency points.
This will go toward Redfish and Minnows who have been active!
Going to send 200 Ecency Points to Active Redfish and 100 Ecency Points to Active Minnows (Except myself), activity means you posted something this week.
Last week I distributed 3,300 Ecency points to our members and had 2,900 Ecency Points left over plus 20,000 to make that a total of 22,900 in the Busy Bees Points Bank!
This week I distribute 3,300 Ecency Points which means I have 19,600 Ecency Points left!

The Basic Rules of Activity
Activity means posting and commenting within a 30-day time.
Posting weekly is recommended.
Supporting one another with votes and engagement is encouraged. There is zero enforcement, we just recommend it. If you want people on Hive who will speak and interact with you - just look at the people in this list!
There are a few accounts (like the top Minnows) that have gone inactive that I do NOT take down due to inactivity. This is mainly to give the active Minnows and Redfish something to aim at. It would also be really cool to see you guys catch up to these larger accounts due to your activity vs the inactivity of these accounts.

Also, I've calculated the results of the curation competition I ran in April; the first figure is the Curation APR at the end of April, and the second one is the Curation APR at the start of May. Figures were drawn straight from Hivestats.io, and do bounce around quite a bit from one day to the next !

I offered delegations for both the highest APR% at the start of April, and also the greatest growth. The winner in both cases was @hellsveiah - so that's a 100HP delegation sent ! 😀
The conclusion I came to with this was that some Hivers curate, and some don't, and there's not much that can be done to change that.
A question I'd love to ask for those who don't upvote fellow Hiver's posts is... why not, and do you realise you're leaving free money on the table (for both yourself, and your friends) ?
It may not be much initially, but compounding is a powerful effect. I had a couple of weeks recently where I couldn't post much for personal reasons, but still curated; a combination of that and HP APR meant that while doing not much else I still earn around 20HP a week. It's taken a couple of years of solid activity to get to that point, but it's worth it !
If it's just about finding time, something you could consider is setting up an automated curation trail. There's a wonderful post on it made by the #SaturdaySavers club - https://ecency.com/hive-167922/@eddie-earner/saturday-savers-club-with-susiesaver-year-4-week-16-saturday-20-april-2024-were-going-for-the-eds-flip-win-eds-for-comments - although of course you can also create a trail of your own preferred favourites as well as or instead of following a pre-designed trail.
