Eternal Carnage 10th Edition is coming! Rules Update!
Hey everyone! First-off, the current count for the Fund Raiser for the sick wargamer is at 71.5%! More help is needed! We are trying to get to 100% before the end of the month!
Eternal Carnage Returns!
We played our first Eternal Carnage Preliminaries and realized that we were too close to the new edition and that we should wait for 10th edition to drop before creating more rules.
Thus I set about creating a rules-pack for creating armies in Eternal Carnage and this is what I came up with!
Enteral Carnage! – 10th Edition Rule Update for Escalation

Section A: Mustering your Forces:
In the base 10th Edition game, players can muster forces between 1000, 2000, and 3000 points, forming a "Detachment."
A Detachment must be led by at least one Character who is designated as the Warlord and gains the Warlord keyword.
Each army can include up to 3 copies of identical datasheets and up to 6 copies of Battleline and Dedicated Transports for any datasheet in the army.
To accommodate larger armies beyond 3000 points and maintain balance, an additional Order of Battle is introduced.
When fielding a force larger than 3000 points, the additional units must be placed into a second Detachment.
The second Detachment can be 1000, 2000, or 3000 points, or a combination thereof, but only if the army exceeds 3000 points.
The second Detachment must have its own Character nominated as Warlord and follows the limits of 3/6/6 datasheets as described in the core rules.
For example, if you have a 4000-point Dark Angels army, you can form it into 2x 2000-point Detachments or 1x 3000-point and 1x 1000-point Detachments.
Multiple Detachments from the same Army combine to form a Company or Battalion.
In a Company, one Character must be nominated as the Grand Warlord for rules purposes. If only two Characters are present, one Warlord can serve as both the Grand Warlord and a regular Warlord.
For instance, a Dark Angels Company with 5000 points can consist of a 3000-point Detachment led by Grand Warlord Lion El'Johnson and Warlord Chapter Master Azrael, and a 2000-point Detachment led by Warlord 1st Company Captain Belial.
Rules interaction for models within the same Company treats them as friendly models for all rules purposes, regardless of their Detachment. Keeping track of Detachments for interaction with leaders, auras, or transports is unnecessary.
Only one Epic Hero can be present on the board from any Company or Army.
Players banding together on one side of the table form an Army.
This is then a collection of multiple Companies and/or Detachments.
One Character is nominated to be the leader of the combined Army. Players can choose beforehand but this should be the model with the most rank. If players cannot decide, they can roll for it.
This overall leader will be the Supreme Warlord. This model may be selected to be from the Warlords in the Detachments in the Army or the Grand Warlord of a Company in the Army or a Character that has not been nominated as either.
Section B: Army and Detachment Rule Duplications:
Certain rules in larger games may be weakened or strengthened, necessitating modifications to maintain balance and prevent duplications.
Abilities that affect models "on the battlefield" should apply to all units with models within 90 inches, considering the max board size of 44" x 90" in the core rules.
Abilities listed as "Once per game" are changed to "Once per 5 rounds" to prevent abuse or exploitation.
Some Army and Detachment rules are permanently active and require no modifications.
When multiple players control different Companies and/or Detachments, duplications of Army Rules should not create unfair or challenging situations that slow the game down.
For Space Marines, each Detachment can select one Oath of Moment target, allowing all Adeptus Astartes units in the Army to use Oath of Moment against the selected targets.
Specific rules for Gladius Task Force Detachments, Black Templars, Blood Angels, Dark Angels, Deathwatch, Space Wolves, Imperial Knights, Astra Militarum, Adepta Sororitas, and Adeptus Custodes are outlined, detailing any necessary modifications to maintain balance and thematic consistency.
These rules will be reviewed and adjusted as needed to ensure they do not break the game in larger points games.
Cheers!
