Virtual tour of St. Petersburg No. 9. The Park of the Great Catherine Palace in the city of Pushkin

Today I propose to continue walking in the park of the Great Catherine Palace in Tsarskoye Selo. Passing by the Admiralty building and the Malaya Pier, located on the shore of a Large Pond, we walked along the alleys to the Grotto pavilion. Today it was closed to visitors, but I still took some pictures from the outside of the building.

A LITTLE HELP FROM THE WEB: The park is part of the State Museum-Reserve "Tsarskoye Selo". It is located in the city of Pushkin near St. Petersburg, an architectural monument of the XVIII-XIX centuries. Together with the Alexander Park, it is an integral part of the Tsarskoye Selo Imperial residence and got its name from the Catherine Palace located in it.

Then our way lay past the statue of Hercules to the Maid of Honor's Garden. This is a very beautiful place in the park. It's kind of fenced off especially for nice walks. There are many flowers growing here, and the landscape itself is very pleasing to the eye.

Tourists always like to take pictures here. On my last visit, there were a lot of people in the kindergarten, but now it is almost empty. This place is somewhat reminiscent of ancient Greek or Roman palaces. Apparently, architects and designers were inspired by them when designing this garden.

We walked around the park for a long time and even climbed the Cameron Gallery, from where I took a lot of pictures of the surrounding places. Unfortunately, it is difficult to fit them into one publication, so I will continue my virtual tour. Stay in touch!

Сегодня я предлагаю продолжить прогулку по парку Большого Екатерининского дворца в Царском Селе. Пройдя мимо здания Адмиралтейства и Малой пристани, расположенных на берегу Большого пруда, мы по аллеям вышли к павильону Грот. Сегодня он был закрыт для посетителей, но я всё же сделал несколько снимков с внешней стороны здания.

НЕБОЛЬШАЯ СПРАВКА ИЗ СЕТИ: Парк в составе Государственного музея-заповедника «Царское Село». Находится в городе Пушкин под Санкт-Петербургом, памятник архитектуры XVIII-XIX веков. Совместно с Александровским парком является неотъемлемой частью Царскосельской императорской резиденции и получил своё название по находящемуся в нём Екатерининскому дворцу.

Далее наш путь лежал мимо статуи Геркулеса к Фрейлинскому садику. Это очень красивое место в парке. Оно как бы огорожено специально для милых прогулок. Здесь растёт множество цветов, а сам ландшафт очень приятен для глаз.

Тут всегда любят фотографироваться туристы. В прошлый мой приезд в садике было очень много народу, а сейчас почти пусто. Это место чем-то напоминает древнегреческие или древнеримские дворцы. Видимо ими и вдохновлялись архитекторы и дизайнеры, проектируя этот сад.

Мы ещё долго гуляли по парку и даже забрались на Камеронову галерею, откуда я сделал множество снимков окрестных мест. К сожалению, их сложно уместить в одну публикацию, поэтому завтря продолжу свою виртуальную экскурсию. Оставайтесь на связи!
