Summer trip from Bryansk to St. Petersburg (trip Report No. 2). Летнее путешествие из Брянска В Петербург (отчёт о поездке №2)

Hello everybody! Yesterday I started a series of publications that I dedicated to my recent trip to St. Petersburg. I started talking about our first trip to the Pavlovsk Park and Palace Museum, and today I will continue my interesting story.

ONLINE REFERENCE: The Pavlovsk Palace and Park Ensemble, created in the heyday of Russian classicism of the late XVIII – early XIX centuries, is a monument of cultural heritage under UNESCO protection. The core of the complex is the Pavlovsk Palace, the summer residence of Emperor Paul I.
Adjacent to the palace is the Pavlovsky Park with an area of about 600 hectares, which stretches along both banks of the Slavyanka River, making it one of the largest landscape parks in Europe.

After we had fed all the squirrels and birds in the park with nuts and sunflower seeds, it was decided to go inside the palace. The time was gradually approaching lunch, and we did not want to be stuck here until the evening and have time to see as much of everything interesting as possible.

In front of the palace we were met by an interesting semicircular courtyard, perfectly clean, without lawns and other frills. Here, apparently, the entrance square was originally conceived, on which a monument to Emperor Paul I was later erected.

The architecture of the building is not distinguished by pompous sophistication, such as the Baroque palaces of the era of Catherine and Elizabeth. The semicircular low building of the Paul's Palace is built in the Classical style, straight, elegant columns with Corinthian capitals are perhaps the most noticeable elements of the building.

I always like the play of semitones and shadows on such structures in good weather and I always take detailed pictures of architectural elements. For some reason, in my mind I immediately imagine the temples of Greece and ancient Rome, which served as the prototype of the Classicism style.

They didn't let us in right away. Excursion groups of about 25 people are recruited here. But we didn't have to wait long, and now, literally fifteen minutes later, we are moving along the colonnade before the electronic turnstiles let us inside.

Right after the main entrance, we see a hall in which ancient Egyptian sculptures of pharaohs stand on the sides. The interior here is not very detailed, but a lot of light falls through numerous stained glass windows and the play of shadows here is simply magnificent.

A staircase leads up from here, but we go the other way and get into a spacious round hall, from where you can see the inside of a high dome. The ceiling is decorated with geometric caissons and decorative paintings. There are also stucco decorations. Elegant chandeliers hang inside.

I will write about what we saw next in this beautiful palace in the near future. It is impossible to put the whole tour in one or two publications. Believe me, there is a lot of interesting things ahead of us!

Привет всем! Вчера я начал цикл публикаций, которые посвятил своей недавней поездке в Петербург. Я начал рассказывать о первом нашем походе в парк и дворец-музей Павловска, и сегодня я продолжу свой интересный рассказ.

СПРАВКА ИЗ СЕТИ: Дворцово-парковый ансамбль Павловска, созданный в эпоху расцвета русского классицизма конца XVIII – начала XIX вв. – памятник культурного наследия, находящийся под защитой ЮНЕСКО. Ядро комплекса — Павловский дворец, летняя резиденция императора Павла I.
Ко дворцу примыкает Павловский парк площадью около 600 га, раскинувшийся по обоим берегам реки Славянки, что делает его одним из крупнейших пейзажных парков в Европе.

После того, как все белки и птицы в парке были нами накормлены орехами и семечками подсолнечника, решено было отправиться внутрь дворца. Время постепенно приближалось к обеду, и нам вовсе не хотелось застрять здесь до вечера и успеть посмотреть как можно больше всегоинтересного.

Перед дворцом нас встретил интересный полукруглый двор, идеально чистый, без газонов и других излишеств. Здесь, судя по всему, изначально задумывалась подъездная площадь, на которой позже был установлен памятник императору Павлу-I.

Архитектура здания не отличается помпезной изысканностью, как, например барочные дворцы эпохи Екатерины и Елизаветы. Полукруглое невысокое здание дворца Павла выстроено в стиле Классицизма, прямые, изящные колонны с коринфскими капителями вот, пожалуй, самые приметные элементы здания.

Мне всегда нравится игра полутонов и теней на таких сооружениях в хорошую погоду и я всегда делаю детальные снимки элементов архитектуры. Почему-то мысленно я сразу представляю храмы Греции и древнего Рима, которые и послужили прообразом стиля Классицизм.

Внутрь нас пустили не сразу. Здесь набирают экскурсионные группы примерно по 25 человек. Но ждать нам пришлось недолго, и вот уже буквально через пятнадцать минут мы движемся вдоль колоннады перед тем, как электронные турникеты впустят нас внутрь.

Сразо после парадного входа мы видим зал, в ктором по стронам стоят древнеегипетские скульптуры фараонов. Интерьер здесь не отличается детализацией, но много света падает сквозь многочисленные витражи и игра теней тут просто великолепна.

Отсюда ведёт лестница наверх, но мы идём другим путём и попадаем в просторный круглый зал, откуда открывается вид на внутренности высокого купола. Потолок украшен геометрическими кессонами и декоративной росписью. Имеются так же лепные украшения. Внутри висят изящные люстры.

О том, что мы увидели дальше в этом прекрасном дворце, я напишу в ближайшее время. Невозможно уложить всю экскурсию в одну -две публикации. Поверьте, впереди нас ждёт очень много всего интересного!
