Report No123. Park of Gatchina Palace (part 4). Отчёт о поездке № 123. Парк Гатчинского дворца (4 часть)

Hello everybody! Today we will continue our walk through Gatchina Park, located in the suburbs of St. Petersburg. I will tell you a little about my general impressions of this place and show you some new pictures from there.

ONLINE REFERENCE: The Palace Park in Gatchina has an area of 143 hectares. This is the oldest park in the Gatchina landscape park complex. It was broken up under Count G. G. Orlov at the end of the XVIII century. The park area borders the Menagerie, the Forest Priory Park and Sylvia, which are also part of the complex of historical Gatchina parks.

To be honest, I didn't even expect how big this park would turn out to be. My daughter and I were pretty tired while exploring the local landscapes. In addition, there is absolutely no remote trade here and visitors in those days could not buy a pie or even ice cream.

However, I was personally pleased that there are very few tourists here. This park literally preserves the ancient atmosphere of comfort and mystery, allowing your thoughts to run their course, and completely immerse yourself in yourself.

As I wrote earlier, not all corners of the park are open. We found only two small pavilions here, but in fact there are more of them here, which can be read in tourist brochures. (I did not talk about the second pavilion, but in the next publication I will make a small review of this place).

From the outside, it may seem that all the bridges in the park are the same. This is understandable, because they are all made according to very similar designs and have almost the same dimensions. Although there are a lot of carp and other fish in the park ponds and canals, of course it is forbidden to catch them.

Only the owners of the palace were allowed to fish here. History remembers the fact that Emperor Alexander III was very fond of fishing in local reservoirs. They say he had very successful catches, and then the fish was cooked in the local kitchen for the royal table.

I'm still rummaging through my photo archives, but it seems to me that I won't find more information about the Gatchina Palace Park. Tomorrow, most likely, I will complete a series of posts about this place with an article about a very interesting pavilion. And that's it for today!

Привет всем! Сегодня мы продолжим прогулку по Гатчинскому парку, расположенному в пригороде Петербурга. Я расскажу немного о своих общих впечатлениях от этого места и покажу несколько новых снимков оттуда.

СПРАВКА ИЗ СЕТИ: Дворцовый парк в Гатчине имеет площадь 143 гектара. Это старейший парк в комплексе гатчинских пейзажных парков. Он разбит при графе Г. Г. Орлове в конце XVIII века. Парковая территория граничит со Зверинцем, лесным Приоратским парком и Сильвией, которые тоже входят в комплекс исторических Гатчинских парков.

Честно говоря, я даже не ожидал, насколько большим окажется этот парк. Мы с дочкой изрядно устали пока исследовали местные пейзажи. К тому же здесь совсем нет выносной торговли и посетителям в те дни не удалось купить ни пирожка, ни даже мороженого.

Однако лично меня порадовало то, что здесь крайне мало туристов. Этот парк буквально сохраняет старинную атмосферу уюта и загадочности, позволяя вашим мыслям бежать своим чередом, и полностью погрузиться в себя.

Как я уже писал раньше, не все уголки парка открыты. Мы отыскали здесь лишь два небольших павильона, но на самом деле их тут больше, о чём можно вычитать в туристических буклетах. (О втором павильоне я не рассказывал, но в следующей публикации сделаю небольшой обзор этого места).

Со стороны может показаться, что все мосты в парке одинаковые. Это и понятно, ведь все они сделаны по очень похожим проектам и имеют почти одинаковые размеры. Хотя в парковых прудах и каналах очень много карпов и других рыб, ловить их конечно же запрещено.

Рыбачить здесь разрешалось лишь владельцам дворца. История помнит тот факт, как император Александр III очень любил удить рыбу в местных водоёмах. Говорят, у него случались очень удачные уловы, а рыбу потом готовили на местной кухне к царскому столу.

Я ещё пороюсь в своих фотоархивах, но мне кажется, что больше информации о парке Гатчинского дворца уже не найду. Завтра скорей всего я завершу цикл постов об этом месте статьёй об очень интересном павильоне. А на сегодня у меня всё!
