The method of making beef degi katwa is very simple. But I would like to point out here that Degi Katwa is a popular food in our area. People in our area use large pots to make digi katwa and at least 40 to 50 kg of meat is prepared in one pot.

But today I bought five kilos of meat to make degi katwa because we are ten people in total and five kilos of meat is enough for ten people. We make Degi Katwa in our traditional way very easily. This degi katwa is also a traditional food of our area but it is made in different styles and ways. This dish is mostly prepared in large cuts and pots at weddings.

We use local spices to make digi katwa but all the spices are easily available in every kitchen. The following ingredients are needed to make the digi katwa.

Ingredients for making Degi Katwa .

  • The more beef,
    the more delicious the food. At weddings, at least 40 to 50 kg of meat is cooked in a pot, but if there are few people or a party of friends, then there should be 5 kg of meat.

  • Salt

  • Red Pepper Grinding

  • Water by Weight Meat

  • Hot Spices -
    Desi Digi Chopped Spices

  • Crushed Coriander

  • Ginger Paste

  • Garlic Paste

  • Onion

  • Cooking Oil

  • Tomato

  • Green Pepper

  • Ingredients Salted Red Pepper



there is is very simple method of cooking degi katwa so, hope you all will enjoy at after reading method of the degi katwa


Step 1

First of all, light a fire with wood because cooking on wood has its own taste. When there is a fire, heat the oil in a pan and fry the onion in hot oil till it turns red. But if it is beef, then after the onion has softened a little, the meat should be added to it.

And the meat should be roasted till the meat turns brown. When the meat turns a little brown, then we have to add some more ingredients. When the meat turns brown, add tomatoes and green chillies and fry all these ingredients well for a while. You can see in the pictures.

now at this stage , beef is getting little brown , so now here we will add tomato and other ingredients

When we add tomatoes, green peppers and all the other spices, then we have to fry them with a little water. When the tomatoes are fried, we have to add water equal to the weight of the meat in the meat. And cook it till one liter of water is left.

When one liter of water is left, we have to add desi degi spice in it and cook it for only five minutes. And then eat this delicious food with hot bread and enjoy the delicious food.
