Meet Maya: The Calm and Playful Cat Who Found Her Way into My Heart 🐾
Hi, I'm new to the community.
This is Maya. I'll tell you the story of how I adopted this cat.
Well, it was a day like any other, I had no idea that I would adopt Maya. I think it almost always happens that way. I was there immersed in my things when I saw a friend's post on Instagram.
So, I saw the photos of her kittens available for adoption.
Well, I went along with another friend who loves animals to help me choose a male. We arrived at the place, greeted, and went to see the kittens.
I reached the back of a house where the kittens were playing with each other. First, I took a black kitten, this cat was male, and he was very energetic. As soon as I lifted him, he didn't hesitate to cling to me and started climbing rapidly, embedding himself in my clothes. He had an explosive personality.
Well, I observed my friend, the expert, and she began to tell me which ones were males. But I still couldn't decide.
Suddenly, I lifted another one; this creature was in a state of relaxation, simply did nothing, just stayed there being lifted, didn't care at all, like "whatever." My friend looked at me and said, but that one is female. But I don't know, I chose Maya.
There you have Maya. On the day I took the next photo I'm going to show you, I was going to go out to train tricking with my friends, and there she was on top of the car, looking at the street, and I thought... "This is a good height for a photo of both of us."
She quickly became part of the family. From a very young age, she allows herself to be carried, but she's not a very affectionate cat. Although she likes to be close to people. She usually lies down nearby when I'm having lunch in the kitchen or playing on the PC.
As you can easily deduce, Maya is a very calm cat. She hardly makes any noise, and the only way you realize she's a girl is when she meows, it has a very high pitch. She tends to meow when she sees you after a long time or when she's really hungry and we're both in the kitchen.
Where I live, there is a natural space where Maya spends a lot of time. She climbs trees, explores, and lies down on the grass for a while. I often see her when I also take a break in this area. The trees and nature make it a very cozy place.
The rest of the time, or most of the time when I decide to take photos of her, is when I find her asleep.
Instead of wanting to knock down the Christmas tree, like many cats, she would just mess up the carpet underneath by sleeping there. But she has never done anything to damage something. She behaves very well, to be honest.
The other times we usually coincide is when I get hungry very late at night and go for some snacks. She already knows what I'm up to and doesn't hesitate to join the search.
In the next photo, I captured her angry. She wasn't allowed to go out because it was December 24th, and there were many fireworks outside.
Well, this is Maya. I hope to share more moments of this feline; most of them I enjoyed without thinking about taking photos, but it's time to capture some shots of the funniest moments.
She is a beautiful animal! And you didn't choose her, she chose you 🥺 Having a cat in your life is a great decision, your life will never be the same again✨
You're right. I hadn't realized until you mentioned it. Surely, the fact that he chose Maya has more to do with her than with me. She brought me into her world. And she's living a good life. She knows the ropes.
Thank you for leaving your comment. A gift 👋
Aw she is so cute!:) Awesome story too :) there are a few cats around where I live and they're super friendly. One of them is basically mine now. Yesterday a new cat visited and came into the house to play haha
