HBD over the Nigerian Naira

The highest Naira note denomination is gradually becoming the same value as the lowest Dollar note denomination. These evoke some major concerns among a lot of people as prices of goods and services continue to skyrocket.

A few days ago, before it got this bad, I had a brief conversation with my cousin and friend who are both on Hive about making adjustments to their savings. They've been saving in naira for far too long and I know how much their savings mean to them so I decided to push them to send their money to HBD and save it here.

They didn't bother thinking too much about it before they agreed to do it. They both save about $13 every month and only a few months ago this used to be $20. Holding their money in naira has caused them a loss of $7 on their savings.

They agreed that holding their money in HBD will not only help them save their money properly but thanks to the APR they'll also be receiving profit on their money, no matter how small.

A lot of Nigerians here on Hive are probably experiencing this devaluation of our currency a lot less than people who are not on Hive or who don't have their money stored in another currency. Hive has, in many ways, come to our rescue.

The country is currently going through a terrible time economically and creating a Dollar account at the bank can be very stressful, however, thanks to Hive, users can have the Dollar experience by keeping their money safe through HBD Savings.

I'll be doing my bit by trying to help as many people as possible move their money from their Naira savings accounts to Dollar wallets. This could help reduce their suffering by a bit and maybe cause me a little stress along the way but you could say it's a risk I'm willing to take.
