Importancia de conocer las diferencias entre tokens y criptomoneda para las inversiones // Importance of knowing the differences between tokens and cryptocurrency for investments

En los tiempos actuales vivimos de cerca los mejores tiempos a nivel criptográfico, donde gran parte de la población tiene conocimiento sobre criptomonedas y es por eso que cada dia avanzamos mucho más hacia el futuro digital, haciendo que cada vez más la economía mundial gire entorno a las criptomonedas, es por esto que a partir de allí el mundo criptográfico se ha ramificado en distintos proyectos que se basen en el minado de monedas o simplemente estén conectados de alguna forma con el comercio de monedas digitales. Es por eso que es necesario comenzar a diferenciar las distintas ramas que existen dentro de las criptomonedas, como por ejemplo comenzar a entender las diferencias de ¿que es un token? y ¿que es una criptomoneda?

In the current times we live closely the best times at cryptographic level, where much of the population has knowledge about cryptocurrencies and that is why every day we move much more towards the digital future, making the world economy increasingly revolve around cryptocurrencies, which is why from there the cryptographic world has branched into different projects that are based on the mining of coins or simply are connected in some way with the trade of digital currencies. That is why it is necessary to begin to differentiate the different branches that exist within the cryptocurrencies, such as beginning to understand the differences between what is a token and what is a cryptocurrency?

Partiendo de lo antes expuesto, definamos las criptomonedas como el medio comercial económico aplicado al mundo digital, donde nace con la intención de acabar con la centralización mundial abarcada por las entidades bancarias, haciendo ver la monopolización económica que existía a nivel mundial y permitiendo entrever la solución a tantos temas de interés común con la inflación.

Por otra parte las criptomonedas se crean con la intención de acercar a la población común al mundo digital, permitiendo de esta forma la obtención de recursos por medio de un proceso llamado minación, el cual estaría ligado al procesamiento de datos a través de máquinas criptográficas, que permiten el minado de distintas monedas. Ahora bien, luego que las criptomonedas comenzaron a tomar auge dentro de la comunidad, se comenzó a buscar la forma de ramificar el mundo criptográfico, dentro de esta ramificación nacen los tokens.

Based on the above, let's define cryptocurrencies as the economic commercial means applied to the digital world, where it was born with the intention of ending the global centralization covered by the banking entities, making see the economic monopolization that existed worldwide and allowing to glimpse the solution to so many issues of common interest with inflation.

On the other hand, cryptocurrencies are created with the intention of bringing the common population closer to the digital world, thus allowing the obtaining of resources through a process called mining, which would be linked to the processing of data through cryptographic machines, which allow the mining of different currencies. Now, after cryptocurrencies began to take off within the community, the cryptographic world began to look for a way to branch out, and within this branching, tokens were born.

El hablar de tokens no es más que referirse a monedas finitas creadas con la finalidad de ser utilizadas en el comercio interno de juegos, páginas web u otras formas donde puedan comercializarse estas monedas. No podemos decir que los tokens son específicamente criptomonedas, pues si es cierto que estos son un derivado de las mismas, pero más no tienen el mismo proceso de obtención que las criptomonedas, ya que estas se obtienen luego de un proceso de minado y los tokens son creados arbitrariamente por cualquier persona capaz de llevar a cabo una idea para comercializar el mismo.

Talking about tokens is nothing more than referring to finite currencies created with the purpose of being used in the internal trade of games, websites or other forms where these currencies can be traded. We cannot say that tokens are specifically cryptocurrencies, because it is true that they are a derivative of them, but they do not have the same process of obtaining cryptocurrencies, since these are obtained after a mining process and tokens are created arbitrarily by anyone capable of carrying out an idea to market them.

Para entender un poco más las diferencias entre tokens y criptomonedas, hablaremos los términos económicos que enmarcan a cada uno; comenzaremos con el minado de las distintas criptomonedas que hoy en día existen, donde su economía es basada en la comercialización de estas en los distintos mercados digitales o bien llamados exchange, por otro lado tenemos que los tokens se basan en la creación de x cantidad de monedas y luego el creador junto a inversores inyectan cierta cantidad de liquidez o dinero para permitir su libre comercialización. Es por esto que podemos decir que cada uno guarda un espacio distinto en la economía digital.

To understand a little more the differences between tokens and cryptocurrencies, we will talk about the economic terms that frame each one; we will start with the mining of the different cryptocurrencies that exist today, where its economy is based on the commercialization of these in the different digital markets or well called exchange, on the other hand we have that the tokens are based on the creation of x amount of coins and then the creator together with investors inject a certain amount of liquidity or money to allow its free commercialization. This is why we can say that each one has a different space in the digital economy.

Si vemos el lado legal de las criptomonedas y lo comparamos con los tokens, podemos encontrar muchas irregularidades en el segundo, ya que este posee una liquidez privada donde su creador e inversores pueden hacer en cualquier momento un movimiento que deje al token sin liquidez de mercado, en cambio las criptomonedas pueden comercializarse libremente por las distintas plataformas de comercio sin ningún tipo de problema, permitiendo así que sea mucho más confiable operar a nivel de trading las criptomonedas que los tokens.

If we look at the legal side of cryptocurrencies and compare it with tokens, we can find many irregularities in the latter, since the latter has a private liquidity where its creator and investors can make a move at any time that leaves the token without market liquidity, while cryptocurrencies can be traded freely by the various trading platforms without any problem, making it much more reliable to trade cryptocurrencies than tokens.

Hay muchos defensores de los tokens, como detractores de los mismos, al igual que pasa con las criptomonedas; a nivel personal pienso que todo está en la estrategia económica que aplique cada persona que comercializa, ya que podemos encontrar quienes se han hecho millonarios con tokens y/o criptomonedas y quienes lo han perdido todo en ambos casos. Lo mejor es evaluar el nivel de riesgo de cada operación o lo que estamos dispuestos a perder y asumir las consecuencia de la misma.

There are many advocates of tokens, as well as detractors of them, just as it happens with cryptocurrencies; on a personal level I think that everything is in the economic strategy applied by each person who trades, since we can find those who have become millionaires with tokens and/or cryptocurrencies and those who have lost everything in both cases. The best thing to do is to evaluate the level of risk of each operation or what we are willing to lose and assume the consequences of it.
