Longing in Solitude
Image
I sit in silence as the sunlight fades from view,
Remembering days when you were by my side.
Your words echo soft, a whisper breaking through -
Alone my thoughts will wander as night descends,
Replaying moments cut too soon apart.
Your touch, your kiss, how sweetly love extends
Its tender bonds to bind two longing hearts.
Yet distance now, to sort what's clearly felt -
This passion that consumes my every breath.
In quiet spaces shall my soul be dealt
The time to heal, or find you still in death.
I'll wait for moonlight's return, its comfort lend -
And hope, my love, you've not ceased to intend.
