If I dared put pen to heart's desire,
My love for you in verses would I trace,
Not with mere ink but gemstones that fire
In brilliance, your beauty to displace.
Each glinting word would of adoration tell,
As diamond, ruby, emerald bright thus shine
To show the depths from which my passion wells
In living color, line by prized line
For you deserve naught but reverence true
Enshrined in lines most rich and rare of hue
Your grace and goodness freely there on view
