Filling the void

Hello hive friends! I can say that I am better and recovering.

Earlier today, I went to my workplace to finish some things and went home after I did them.

I was coughing so hard when I was at work and it wa smacking delays.

I asked my husband to fetch me up and went to a manghihilot. More like a chiropractor or something.

She massaged me and game me some herbs to boil. Now I am waiting for it to cool down a bit so I could drink them before having a nap.

Now back to the title.

I noticed my child's uniform missing something but I cannot really point a finger to it. The uniform was a hand me down from th cousins who also went to the same school as my daughter did today.

This was originally I day's but now she's 17. See how old this uniform is but still very useful. My eldest daughter used this too and in her time, the buttons behind gave up so I replaced them with the buttons that I had f crochet.

Then one day, I was asked by my husband to send her to school(I was late or my work at that time). I had the time to look at her classmate's uniforms and found that there is supposed to be a bow in front of the uniform and it was what it was missing the whole time.

I didn not have teh same fabric her uniform has but I did have baby blue yarn in the office and it was perfet for the project.

Here is how I made the bow

I made 17 chains usinga 4ply baby blue indophil yarn and a 3mm crochet hook and lined it all up wit single crochet. I went back and forth since the primary structure that is needed for the bow was a rectangle and that is what I did.

I checked on the front and back to make sure it was looking nice and when I looked at it, both sides almost looked the same and I I love it.

Satisfied with the size that I came up to, I enclosed the rectangle with single crochet to make it look better and uniform. On the angles, I made two single crochet in the last and first stitch to ephasize the egde.

I tried and folded the rectangle to form a bow and stitched it with the same yarn using a smaller hook that I had.

Then I finally wrapped the center with more yarns and locked it in and making sure that the edges of the yars will not come out when teh bow is in use or when waashed.

The process was very simple that one needs no tutorial to do it at all.

But when I was installing the bow into Laling's uniform, she asked me if I could make it into her headband. I said no, of course because the uniform is where it was intended but I promised her to make one as per her request.

And I know that if I make her one, her sister would want one too . I just wish that I could find more time to do it so, probably best before Christmas.

So this will be my entry for this week's Needleworkmonday challenge. Thank you for your time and may God bless us all.
Take care.

Hello.

Your ribbon immediately brought back memories.

There are some very good fabrics that last for many years despite wear and washings.

Glad to hear that you will soon be well and that your little girl has now completed her uniform.

I'm sure you will make both bows as soon as you recover. Greetings from Venezuela.

Hola.
