Chopping my Hair Off

Regrets always come last and that's how life is and so does what I felt when I cut my hair short.

The last time I cut my hair was April last year, and yup, I did it myself. The last t time I went to the barber shop was when I was in first-year college and I had a clean cut due to ROTC. It was the shortest I had in my entire life and I had a hard time growing it. Since then I cut my own hair and every time I do it, I just needed a mirror and a pair of scissors. This way, I can have my hair the way I wanted for free whenever I wanted it to be.

You see, most women cut their hair when they are depressed; I did it once, but I just can't remember why. But this time, I cut my hair because of peer pressure mostly and it's me to blame why I listened to people around me.

I am easily influenced and it's my weakness especially when some people of importance will be saying it to me. A few days ago, just this month, I was told by a co-worker That it would be best if I cut my hair and the dumb me listened to her and cut my hair the following Sunday.

I loved my hair, I don't grow this long every time but whenever I comb it, it makes me more worried because of the fallen hair I see each time. I only comb my hair once a day and tuck it in a bun most of the time if it dried after bathing every morning and even when I go to sleep, I had to tuck it because it would hurt so much if my kids would lie down to it and I pull it or might accidentally pull it.

I have did have regrets but hair would just grow and grow. Funny, I swore not to cut my hair until it would reach waist long but I doubt if it will grow fast before I could decide to cut it again.

Yet my regrets won't help me grow my hair now and I'm getting over it. Whether short or long, I still look myself, nothing changed though I think I cut a few years of my age, lols!

As of now, I am enjoying the freedom I had with a short hair, I don't have to wrap my hair with a towel for long, and I can scrub my hair when I shampoo, never fearing that it would be painful when I comb it after bathing.

Longhair, short hair has pros and cons and all can look good on everyone; just some people are used to looking at how their hair looks like the way they had it for a long.
