A short Walk towards Benignit

Hello everyone! How are you all? I hope you are well and happy.

I rarely had walks, I wanted to do as much but my routine restricts me so. But on Maundy Thursday, I got invited by my co-workers to come with them to the motor pool department to have some snacks.

I love opportunities like this so I took my phone with me and took as much pictures as I can.

Here are they:
We cannot go into the feedmill area without a reflectorized vest and a hardhat for safety reasons; good thing I remembered them before I took my leave. Also, I armored myself with a mug and a spoon!

This is Irene, she invited me to go to the motor pool, I was not a let to contribute money to buy the ingredients but they re all so generous.

Behind the admin Building was a stair going down. The contour of the land gave the owner this idea, beside he had to go with it and he had no other choice. That's Janbert, Irene's partner in work. He is going with us too.

My green mug, which I borrowed from sir Fonz, but I didn't return since he has lots of mugs to use.

It's Maundy Thursday and there were less deliveries, Irene only unloaded 3 trucks in the morning while. On regular days, they unload more than 10.

Those two cylinders are the containers for oil and molasses; we use oil for its fat, and molasses for its sweetness. It makes the feeds more palatable and apparently encourages the animals to eat.

Three years after the feedmill was completed, the owner, my boss decided he would expand it. He paid more than 26 million for the equipments and machineries alone and probably spent half of it for the building from the foundation to ceiling. But he earns millions per day too!

See how many rebars they put in the unfinished wall? Do you think it will hold the building after some earthquake? I guess so but I'm not prying for an earthquake just to test its strength.

We have reached the rear part now and this small hill, created from an excavated land is part of the expansion too.

But let's take a look at the mountain first. People call it Ramcar. Way back many years ago, the mountain was a pasture for many cattle. It may look so near but its not, in fact if the cattle weren't white, w'd probably not see them.

But one thing I hate about the owner of the mountain is that they burn the grass every year during summer. If not for their annual burning, the mountain might now be full of trees in it.

Now here's the small hill. Lovely, isn't it? Thsi made me remember way back when I was small. My father asked the highways worker to dunp soil near our house then two days later I and my neighbours (kids) were sliding down in itm it was fun but when our parents see how soiled out clothes were? Naa, we all got some scolding.

My silly friend the joked as we passed by on an on going construction of a guard house, it was a very jot day and he said to all of us to find shelter on the guard house's shadow.
There is no roof in it yet and that is what made him so funny.

It is no joke but the pot they used is huge! And it's full yet most of the food got scorched because there were no laddle to use.

#Behold, the Benignit

This is what we went here for; benignit is a dish which most Filipinos cook during the lenten season. It's made with ripe banana, sweet potato, ube, jackfruit, tapioca pearls, cooked in coconut milk with sugar to taste. Each pot tastes differently and the ingredients may vary depending on the availability and the preferences.

My favourite ingredient on the benignit is the banana and sometimes, when no one is looking, I pick them up from the pot. Haha.

And here we are! Seeking shelter from the heat of the sun while eating and talking. The front camera of my Huawei y9s was broken so I had to take the photos on the back camera and getting selfies are a bit challenging.

Thommy seek shelter on a cage like structure and he played monkey as well.

We are all smiles, the men cracked jokes and we all laughed.

It took us too long to finish eating because the food was still so hot . Even myself got victimised and burnt my tongue.

We all had fun and we were filled not only with food but friendship also. I seldomly go with them and I realized that it is important to be sociable with others.

  • I'm so sleepy, I got to go. I deleted a lot of works I typed because nothing seems going along.

So this will be all for now, keep safe and see you around.

Keep safe. Good night!
