This is a birthday between nostalgic and joyful because feelings that define us as friends, accomplices, lovers or as husband and wife come together.
The nostalgia comes because we are far away from our beloved land, because on days like this the whole family gets together and celebrates with a roast pig, listening to music or dancing and having a few beers or a few shots of wine. It is very true that it takes courage to leave the land where you were born and your beloved relatives.
Joy because we are alive, healthy and fighting to achieve our dream of reaching our final destination and continue helping our loved ones.
In spite of the distance from our loved ones, one thing was clear to us: We had to celebrate it, the two of us.
With this idea in mind, we went to the coffee shop near the rental, to listen to music, talk about our future plans, continue loving each other from the complicity of the moment and drink some cold beers.
I must say that, at the coffee shop, they treated us very well and, when we told them that my husband had a birthday, they gave us two rounds of beer and played the music we asked for.
Between laughter and tears in our eyes we recalled several of the birthdays we have had together in these 20 years of relationship.
It is true that it was not a classic birthday, one of those we do in Cuba, where we invite half a block of neighbors and the other half invites themselves, but, we spent it in the intimacy of the love we have for each other and we had a good time. In addition, throughout the evening several of our family members were with us and were present by cell phone calls or by message through social networks.

Hoy es 3 de julio, puede que para muchos sea un día normal, pero, para mí es uno de los días más importantes del almanaque porque mi esposo está cumpliendo años.
Este es un cumpleaños entre nostálgico y alegre porque se unen sentimientos que nos definen como amigos, cómplices, amantes o como marido y mujer.
La nostalgia viene porque estamos lejos de nuestra tierra amada, porque en días como este toda la familia se une y celebra con un cerdo asado, escuchando música o bailando y tomándonos algunas cervezas o unos tragos de vino. Es muy cierto que hay que tener valor para dejar la tierra que te vio nacer y a tus familiares queridos.
La alegría porque estamos vivos, con salud y luchando por conseguir nuestro sueño de llegar a nuestro destino final y seguir ayudando a los nuestros.
A pesar de la distancia de los nuestros, una cosa sí nos quedó clara: Debíamos festejarlo nosotros dos.
Con esta idea nos fuimos para la cafetería que nos queda cerca de la renta, para escuchar música, hablar de nuestros planes futuros, seguir amándonos desde la complicidad del momento y tomarnos algunas cervezas bien frías.
Debo decir que, en la cafetería, nos trataron muy bien y, al decir que mi esposo estaba de cumpleaños, nos regalaron dos rondas de cervezas y nos pusieron la música que le pedimos.
Entre risas y lágrimas en los ojos recordamos varios de los cumpleaños que llevamos juntos en estos 20 años de relación.
Es cierto que no fue un cumpleaños clásico, de esos que hacemos en Cuba, en los que invitamos a media cuadra de vecinos y la otra mitad se invita sola, pero, la pasamos en la intimidad del amor que nos tenemos y la pasamos bien. Además, durante toda la velada varios de nuestros familiares estuvieron junto a nosotros y se hicieron presentes por llamadas al móvil o por mensaje por redes sociales.
Gracias a la vida que me ha dado la posibilidad de disfrutar de la compañía de un hombre como este.
