Facing the RINOs ... meme

Yesterday's InkTober prompt was "rhinoceros." I've been playing a game where I generate an image whicht Night Cafe that I then place on that other web site. I then try to draw a picture which I place on Verify Your Brain.

Generating images is easy. Drawing pictures is hard.

Anyway, yesterday's prompt was "rhinoceros." Since we are in the political season, I thought I would play on the acronym RINO. Right Wingers refer to the the opossition to Trump in the Republican Party as "Republican in Name Only."

Night Cafe generated the image at the bottom of the the page. This image was great ... but it had an extra eye that I tried to remove with GIMP. I like the fact that it was snorting.

I generated several other images. They all had mishapen rhinos. The second image appears to have eight legs. It also has an extra horn.

I realized that If I cropped off the extra legs, I would have a decent picture of Trump facing a Rhino. Sadly the picture did a horrible job with Trump's hair line.

I think these pictures might be suitable memes for posts about the internal opposition to Trump in the GOP and I made the decision to repost these public domain images on HiveMe.me.

Here are the raw files

Top Rhino on Night Cafe

Mid Rhino

Bottom Rhino on Night Cafe

Trump has an abrasive personality. It is likely that he would often find opposition in the GOP. Internal opposition is often a good thing.

I am not sure if these images would make a decent NFT. If you think I should make the images an NFT, let me know in the comments.

I think these could be a very good meme, reflecting commonly held understandings. However, I have a question, not being very familiar with commonly held understandings due to my uncommon understandings.

What is a RINO? I know it's an abbreviation for 'republican in name only', but what is the assumption about what the RINO really is rather than a Republican?

Thanks!

I like the meme because it reflects internal division in a party. IMHO: Internal division within parties is usually good thing. It is one of the few places where we see actual debate.

The term RINO is often used by self-described conservatives for people who do not tow the "conservative" line. "Conservative" in the United States means something different than in the rest of the world.

Most US conservatives are ignorant of other uses of the term.

Some people use RINO for politicians who compromise their campaign positions one in office. I find this use silly because the concept of compromise is central to central to the Republican tradition.

Personally, I see it as a term used by frustrated voters who feel that the government is overbearing and does not respond to the needs of the people.

BTW: Apparently Trump uses the term.
