Woman with candlestick - Digital Illustration

Saludos amigos! El día de hoy quiero mostrar un retrato el cual me llevó más tiempo del que pensaba, no habiendo intentado hacer nunca un contraste tan marcado y me resultó más difícil de lo que pensaba, de hecho aún no estoy contenta como luce en general, pero si me ha gustado un poco, así que acá les muestro un poco del proceso.

Greetings friends! Today I want to show you a portrait which took me more time than I thought, having never tried to make such a sharp contrast and it was more difficult than I thought, in fact I'm still not happy with how it looks in general, but I liked it a little bit, so here I show you a little of the process.

Lo primero que hice fue realizar el boceto del rostro de la mujer cuya referencia pueden conseguir en Pinterest en el siguiente enlace, cuando vi el retrato quise dibujarlo, me gusta mucho este contraste de colores en específico, el amarillo y estos tonos de azul tan intenso, luego coloque una base de color para el tono de la piel.

The first thing I did was to make the sketch of the woman's face whose reference you can get on Pinterest in the following link, when I saw the portrait I wanted to draw it, I really like this contrast of colors in specific, yellow and these shades of blue so intense, then I placed a base color for the skin tone.

Comencé colocando en primer lugar los tonos más oscuros sobre su piel, sobretodo en la parte opuesta a donde se ubica la vela, es decir el lado derecho de su rostro, así mismo añadí algunos tonos rosaceos sobre sus mejillas y labios, los cuales fui mezclando a medida que fui avanzando en el proceso de este dibujo.

I started by first placing the darkest tones on her skin, especially on the opposite side of her face to where the candle is located, that is to say the right side of her face, and I added some pinkish tones on her cheeks and lips, which I mixed as I went along in the process of this drawing.

Luego coloree sus ojos y su cabello, es este punto fue en el que dure un poco el tono que usaba para el área oscura no terminaba de parecerme el ideal, así que progresivamente fui agregando unos nuevos tonos y mezclando hasta conseguir uno más conveniente. Una vez dibuje el cabello me ayudo también a equilibrar un poco el retrato hasta el momento.

Then I colored her eyes and her hair, it was at this point that the tone I used for the dark area didn't seem ideal to me, so I progressively added new tones and mixed them until I got a more convenient one. Once I drew the hair it also helped me to balance a little the portrait so far.

Luego agrege unos puntos de luz aun más brillantes en sus mejillas, mentón y nariz,me gustó mucho como este sencillo detalle realizó el retrato, también tuve algunos problemas.con la selección del color de las pupilas, como normalmente había usado el mismo todo para ambas esta vez representó un reto para mi, pero me gustó mucho probar colorear con este tipo de luz y espero mejorar mucho más.

Then I added some even brighter points of light on her cheeks, chin and nose, I really liked how this simple detail made the portrait, I also had some problems with the color selection of the pupils, as normally I had used the same everything for both this time it was a challenge for me, but I really liked to try coloring with this kind of light and I hope to improve a lot more.
