Greetings @theanimerealm community, today I want to share with you an anime whose creator I love for the way in which, not only develops the story, but also her way of drawing; her works are adorned with a great mystery that never cease to surprise you with the plot twists that come to give and, Vanitas no Carte, is no exception, where I feel that, for the animation is what also ends up hooking you, a quite striking visual style. This anime, even though it's about vampire, there are more intriguing elements that should be appreciated closely.
Vanitas de Carte (ヴァニタスの手記)…
Premiering the first part in 2021 and ending the first season with 24 episodes in 2022. Its creator is Jun Mochizuki, the same who made Pandora Hearts; being this work of fantasy, steampunk, supernatural and historical genre, under the direction of Tomoyuki Itamura and Bones studio.
As for the plot…
The story is set in a 19th century Victorian Paris with a steampunk aesthetic, where a young man named Noé Archiviste, who is a vampire meets Vanitas on his journey; this black-haired, blue-eyed human claims to be the doctor of vampires, as there is a curse among this species that makes them involuntary predators. Vanita carries the “Book of Vanitas” that belonged to the original Vanitas, a vampire of the blue moon and who was accused of creating this grimoire that is capable of altering the true name of those of his races to transform their own essences and strip them of their form and other details that, therefore, can reverse the curse that torments them.
To enter a little more in context, vampires are born in the red moon, while Vanitas, was the only one of his species born in the blue moon, so he was despised by his own kind and expelled from the clan, there was born his hatred towards them.
Continuing, as Noah has always been interested in this vampire and his book, he does not hesitate to join him and cure the vampires and stop the Charlatan, an entity that causes this corruption in vampires. Vanitas no carte involves us in a series of mysteries and secrets specifically in the past events of our protagonist Vanitas, who avoids at any cost that they are revealed.
Will this pair manage to stop the disease that is threatening the existence not only of vampires, but also of the entire world? What will Charlatan's true identity be?
Personal opinion
Vanitas no Carte stands out for its setting, that ancient air with architectural designs that transport you to mystical scenarios and as if you were in another world so, I applaud the Bones studio for achieving such meticulous detail that Jun captures with his art, of course certain things if they obviate them, in the theme of the scenario, but they go unnoticed by how well they approached the work of the author. And if we talk about the design of the characters, I'm really surprised how they looked similar to the original work, both in the story and in the art in general, clothing, accessories ..., for that reason I hope they give continuity to the animated version when the manga ends.
As for the rhythm and plot of this anime, Jun has the habit of wrapping us in several enigmatic events that you can get lost in so many elements that are introduced, however, knowing how was the development of Pandora Hearts, you can more or less intuit that everything will make sense as the story progresses and has already been doing so, that I really lost a little rhythm to see it, but as far as I was left, the author has already begun to give hints of what happens in all her work.
Although at first the work enters an environment that combines action with comedy, it gradually becomes darker than it appears at first glance, so it is not recommended that you get attached to the characters. Another detail is that the beginning is somewhat slow, however, it is important to lay the foundations on which this world is based and how it will develop.
Positive points…
It is a rather daring story, I would say, where he presents us with beings that we have already seen, such as vampires, with other elements, delving more into the history of the characters in question, than the relationships and tensions that are formed between them. It is as if he based his work on other narrative elements from other stories and gave it his personal touch, giving a solid support to what Vanitas brings us.
I must say that another favorable point, besides the story, the color palettes and the effects, I must mention that the strong personalities of the characters give a greater dynamism to the plot, filling it with nuances that enrich it in many ways. I also love the soundtrack, tell me the endings, I have a special affection for it.

It is a story that somehow manages to catch you and I'm not saying that because I loved Pandora Hearts, and the author has the ability to give depth to her characters, entering into their pasts, memories and experiences that you get to connect with them, so if you like mystery, with a touch of action and humor, this is the anime you were looking for.

Saludos comunidad de @theanimerealm, hoy les quiero compartir un anime cuya creadora me encanta por la manera en el que, no solo desarrolla la historia, sino también su manera de dibujar; sus obras se adornan de un gran misterio que no dejan de sorprenderte los giros argumentales que llegan a dar y, Vanitas no Carte, no es la excepción, donde siento que, por la animación es lo que también termina por engancharte, un estilo visual bastante llamativo. Este anime, aunque se trate de vampiro, hay más elementos intrigantes que deberían ser apreciados detenidamente.
Vanitas de Carte (ヴァニタスの手記)…
Estrenando la primera parte en el 2021 y finalizando esa primera temporada con 24 episodios, para el 2022. Su creadora es Jun Mochizuki, misma la que hizo Pandora Hearts; siendo esta obra de genero fantasía, steampunk, sobrenatural e histórico, bajo la dirección de Tomoyuki Itamura y del estudio Bones.
En cuanto a la trama…
La historia es ambientada en un Paris victoriano del Siglo XIX con una estética entrelaza entre el steampunk, donde un joven llamado Noé Archiviste, quien es un vampiro se topa con Vanitas en su viaje; este humano de cabello negro y ojos azules dice ser el doctor de los vampiros, pues hay una maldición entre esta especie que los vuelves depredadores involuntariamente. Vanita porta el “El libro de Vanitas” que pertenecía al Vanitas original, un vampiro de la luna azul y que fue acusado de crear este grimorio que es capaz de alterar el nombre verdadero de los de sus razas para transformar sus propias esencias y despojarlos de su forma y otros detalles más que, por ende, puede revertir dicha maldición que los atormentan.
Para entrar un poco más en contexto, los vampiros nacen en la luna roja, mientras que Vanitas, fue el único de su especie que nació en la luna azul, por lo que fue despreciado por los suyos y expulsado del clan, ahí nació su odio hacia ellos.
Continuando, como Noé siempre estuvo interesado en este vampiro y su libro, no duda en querer unirse a él y curar a los vampiros y detener a su vez, al Charlatan, una entidad causante de esta corrupción en los vampiros. Vanitas no carte nos envuelven en una serie de misterios y secretos específicamente en los sucesos pasados de nuestro protagonista Vanitas, quien evita a cualquier costa que sean revelados.
¿Lograrán este par detener la enfermedad que esta amenazando la existencia no solo de los vampiros, también del mundo entero? ¿Cuál será la verdadera identidad de Charlatan?
Opinión personal
Vanitas no Carte destaca por su ambientación, ese aire antiguo con diseños arquitectónicos que te transportan a escenarios místicos y como si estuvieses en otro mundo por lo que, aplaudo al estudio Bones por lograr tan minucioso detalle que Jun plasma con su arte, claro ciertas cosas si los obvian, en el tema del escenario, pero pasan desapercibidos por lo bien que se acercaron al trabajo de la autora. Y si, hablamos del diseño de los personajes, realmente me sorprende como buscaron similar a la obra original, tanto en la historia como en el arte en general, ropa, accesorios…, por tal motivo deseo que le den continuidad a la versión animada cuando el manga termine.
En cuanto al ritmo y la trama de este anime, Jun tiene la costumbre de envolvernos en varios sucesos enigmáticos que puedes llegar a perderte en tantos elementos que se van introduciendo, sin embargo, conociendo como fue el desarrollo de Pandora Hearts, ya más o menos se puede intuir que todo cobrara sentido a medida que avanza la historia y que ya lo ha estado haciendo, que realmente he perdido un poco el ritmo de verla, pero hasta donde quedé, ya la autora ha empezado a dar indicios de lo que sucede en todo su trabajo.
Aunque en un principio la obra entre en un ambiente que combina la acción con la comedia, poco a poco se va tornando más oscura de lo que aparenta a simple vista, por lo que no es recomendable que te encariñes con los personajes. Otro detalle es que, el inicio es algo lento, no obstante, es importante para asentar las bases en el que se fundamenta este mundo y el como se va ir desarrollando.
Puntos positivos…
Es una historia bastante atrevida diría yo, donde nos presenta seres que ya hemos visto, como lo son los vampiros con otros elementos, ahondando más en la historia de los personajes en cuestión, que si las relaciones y tensiones que se van formando entre sí. Es como si fundamentara su obra en base a otros elementos narrativos de otras historias y le diera su toque personal, dándole un soporte solido a lo que nos trae Vanitas.
Debo decir que otro punto favorable, además de la historia, la paletas de colores y los efectos, debo acotar que las personalidades tan marcadas entre los personajes le otorgan como una mayor dinamismo a la trama, llenándole de matices que en la enriquece en muchos sentidos. Aunado que me encanta el soundtrack, dígame los endings, le tengo un especial cariño.

Es un historia que de algún modo te llega a atrapar y no lo digo en base a que me encantó Pandora Hearts, y es que la autora tiene esa capacidad de darle profundidad a sus personajes, adentrándonos a sus pasados, recuerdos y vivencias que llegas a conectar con los mismos, por lo que, si te gusta el misterio, con un toque de acción y humor, este es el anime que estabas buscando.

Yo recuerdo haber visto el primer episodio y quedé ahí, lo detuve posiblemente porque estaba viendo algunos animes en emisión y lo dejé de lado por no darle tiempo. Pero ahora que me lo recordaste puede que lo vuelva a retomar. Si es tan buena así como para darle ese puntaje entonces tengo que verlo.
