Greetings @movies&tvshows community, today I come to comment on a k-drama that I do not understand how I did not see it at the time of its release, not only has a story that keeps you hooked and with diverse and deep themes, also with different outcomes that lead you to reflection.

Death’s Game ( 이재, 곧 죽습니다)…

Based on Lee Won-sik and Ggulchan's webtoon of the same name, it was released in December 2023 under the direction of Ha Byung-hoon. In it, you can see the participation of different high caliber actors and actresses including Seo In-guk, our main character, Park So-dam, Lee Jae-wook, Lee Do-hyun, Kim Jae-wook and others.

Synopsis…

The plot begins with the suicide of young Choi Yi-jae, who between the search for his job, breaking up with his girlfriend and other problems that were added to him, lead him to feel and express that "death is the only solution" to all the bad things that happened to him. However, this causes him to face Death itself, who is angry for having called her before she came to him.

This action he took, Death considered it a lack of respect towards herself, so she imposed a punishment, a game, where he would be reincarnated in 12 people, whose destinies would already be marked by an early death and, if he manages to avoid this fatality in the life he possessed, he could be saved and keep that body.

But what events will await Yi-jae? Because he can never imagine the body he will end up in, let alone the death that awaits him and the people who will be involved in those lives.

Personal opinion…

Death's Game has an amazing casting, each actor and actress who participated in this series gave us splendid interpretations of the characters in question, with tense and emotional scenarios that unfold splendidly in what the story wants us to understand at each point that touches on life, relationships and opportunities.

! [SPOILER ALERT]

A story of a selfish man who is dragged into the bodies of others and lives through the different deaths that await them, only to learn the lesson that life is an opportunity and that every action will bring its consequences. That, in the end, his death was only the beginning of a chain of events that will end up affecting those closest to him.

It is no secret that South Korea is a country cataloged and criticized for its high suicide rate, so this K-drama is a clear reflection on the measures to be taken regarding the situations that plague their society: bullying, child abuse, depression... Although not only this country has this problem, all over the world this reality is more common than you might think.

This series reminded me of a guy who recently committed suicide, I did not know him, I knew his story because he studied at the same university I graduated and what he wrote on social networks, really made many people cry, including me. Depression is a delicate issue and should not be taken lightly, there are cases that show no signs and others give a cry for help, but no one realizes it, it is not easy to see life as an opportunity, but death will never be a solution.

There are moments in the series that make you reflect a lot, for example when death shows the protagonist hell and he, frightened does not want to go there, she refutes him saying that: "humans claim to live in a hell, but they can't stand the real hell", as he complained about everything that happened is his life, claiming that he lived a hell and did not see that really all those problems were only a small part of what surrounded him, there are rainy days and other sunny days, but that's life, a constant fluctuation of various emotions that makes us appreciate the small moments.

! [SPOILER ALERT]

It also gives us to understand how complex and contradictory is the nature of the human being, we are so selfish that we forget about those around us and that the decisions we make affect us in some way. At the end the protagonist understands that living in constant fear is not living, I loved this, because how many times we do not dare to do or say something just because of fear, this emotion is the beginning and the indicator of much better things, do not let yourself be governed by it, but let it pass through you.

Score I give it…

10/10 Story │ 10/10 Performances │ 9/10 Sound │ 9/10 Stage │ 10/10 Overall.

"Death is just the beginning", your actions and decisions will be repaid both in life and death. A series that explores the various situations that are not only triggered in South Korea, the whole world is determined by factors that harm people's mental health. Also, it shows us that, although we are individuals who differ from each other, the experiences we live through are similar and somehow connect us.

10/10 Historia │ 10/10 Actuaciones │ 9/10 Sonido │ 9/10 Escenario │ 10/10 General

Wow... You did a good job in your review of this Kdrama. I remember watching Death's Game when it was released and the show got me thrilled from start to finish.

The Deaths were horrifying. Do you recall the parents that killed their own child? It's awful.

With each new life, I wondered how far he would go in his attempt to escape death. And with the coming of each death, I kept wondering about the body he would jump into in his next life.

The show is wholesome. It would be interesting to see more thrilling kdramas like these.

Each death is also an adrenaline rush to the heart and the anticipation to see what the next life will be was high and frightening. The baby's death was one of the ones I mourned, because these are cases that occur more often than one can imagine. Thank you very much. Tomorrow also touches on suicide and several chapters touch the heart, that one is also good 😉.

Oh, Yeah! You know your Kdramas. Haha.

I watched Kdrama when it came it out and the casts for the show was the first thing that drew me to it. The concept for the show also seemed interesting. But when I started watching it, each case that was handled by the afterlife agency got supper deep and very emotional.

Koreans really have a way of pulling our emotional strings with their Kdrama projects. This is exactly why I've been mostly watching Kdramas since 2009/2010

Oh yes 😅 I have seen from goblin, work proposal, to wonderful world, Big Mouse, uffss quite a lot and I still have the list to watch a few. Truly the Koreans have a way of conveying and the actors 10/10 with their performances. And definitely Tomorrow is a drama that should be more appreciated.

That's a very spectacular Kdrama list. I've watched a few of them and Mouse is one of those that gave me a completely unexpected plot twist. Wow! That show is crazy.

I'm currently looking forward to the airing of Red Swan. The show will start airing 3rd July. Haha.

Big Mouse was too much of a plot twist, 180°. I didn't know that one about Red swam, I already know to look forward to it and watch it as soon as it airs. 😊
