National Irish Coffee Day
It is National Irish Coffee Day in the US today. Now, it's not really an official day. It's just another reason to get our coffee on.
Now, many people will enjoy Irish Cream Coffee many days of the year; it's a common creamer flavour, for those who enjoy such things, and there are even roasts of coffee that come in it. Personally, I do not drink this coffee. When I want an Irish Coffee, I do it the right way: with whiskey. Or, in this case, with Irish Cream.
Emerald Isle Elixir - A Skeleton Brew Irish Coffee Creation
Ingredients
- 1 cup coarse or drip ground Skeleton Brew's Bone Rattler coffee.
- 2 cups boiling water
- 1/2 cup freshly whipped cream
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1/4 cup Irish whiskey
- A sprinkle of cocoa powder, for garnish
- Green food coloring (optional, for a festive touch)
Instructions
Step 1: The Midnight Summoning
Commence with the allure of the "Dark Roast Reaper." Place the coarsely ground coffee into a clean French press. Pour the boiling water over the coffee, ensuring complete immersion. Stir delicately, then let it steep for 4 minutes, awakening the rich, deep flavors.
Step 2: The Essence Unveiled
After the coffee has steeped, steadily press down the French press plunger. Pour the aromatic brew into two large mugs, filling each about halfway.
Step 3: The Whiskey Whisper
In each mug, dissolve a tablespoon of brown sugar into the coffee. Stir thoroughly until the sugar is fully integrated.
Step 4: The Irish Spirit
Carefully pour 2 tablespoons of Irish whiskey into each mug, blending it with the sugared coffee. For a touch of Irish charm, add a drop of green food coloring to each, stirring gently.
Step 5: The Creamy Crest
Gently float the freshly whipped cream on top of the coffee in each mug, creating a soft, inviting layer.
Step 6: The Enchanted Garnish
Dust a light sprinkle of cocoa powder over the whipped cream for a visually appealing and aromatic finish.
Step 7: The Emerald Isle Elixir Experience
Enjoy the "Emerald Isle Elixir," a magical fusion of Skeleton Brew's deep coffee flavors, the warmth of Irish whiskey, and the sweet caress of cream. Let this enchanting beverage transport you to the mystical shores of Ireland, where every sip is a celebration of culture and taste.

☕♨️🥃🇮🇪
Bailey's is definitely awesome, too! I will admit I have some in the cupboard as well. It also would have worked as a coffee additive!

Your metaphors are always a pleasure to read. And now that I know today is National Irish Coffee Day, I may have a cup of homemade Irish coffee later--without the Bone Rattler unfortunately 🙈
Cheers ☕
Hee! I'm glad you appreciate it. I love putting these recipes and descriptions together. Hopefully you've had the opportunity to get a good coffee by now!
National Irish Coffee Day... Now there's a holiday I can support!
Right?? It's coffee, so a great way to start the day, but also with Irish Whiskey, so a fantastic afternoon pick me up!
It's always a blast to read your directions, I enjoy the panache you put into them!
National Irish coffee day should be strictly enforced if you ask me... 😂 Looks awesome!
Haha! Thank you! I do love putting these together, both the writing and the recipe. Tasting the product is great, too!

Good day.

The way S. Keleton Brew's prepares Irish coffee is very poetic. It looks delicious, it makes me want to drink it. His presentation was luxurious. Congratulations for doing a good job. You are already hired for Barista.
Hee! Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoyed the write up!
