Simple way to give your top and dress a good fitting.
hi guys
today I talked about the simple tips you need to add to your dress or top to give it a good fitting shape.
The simple tip I'm talking about Is a princess dart bustier cut.
The required measurements
Half length- 16
Bust- 36
Under bust length- 16
( the under bust length is measurement from shoulder to the under bust)
Nipple-nipple- 8
shoulder-nipple- 10
shoulder- 7
Armhole- 9
Your measurements should be according to the size of your customer.
the fabric is folded into two following the bust measurements plus the seam allowance which is ( 5 inches).
the seam allowance is made 5 inches because we are making a bustier princess dart which will require cutting out some part of your fabric in the centre.
Add an inch to your half length measurement then mark it out on your fabric.
Draft out your shoulder and armhole with chalk.
If you should look at the picture below carefully you would see, I made the shoulder slant that's to make our dress or top fitting because the human shoulder is not straight.
After then draw out your shoulder-nipple, shoulder to under bust and nipple-nipple measurements.
Divide your armhole into two and remove 1 inch, I made use of 4 here, mark it out and join to the nipple- nipple measurements which has been marked straight down to the waist region. A normal princess dart is formed but that's not where we are heading to.
mark an inch backward from the nipple-nipple measurement and mark half inch below and above the divided armhole, it could be made more than that depends on how busty your customer is, it increases with increase in bust measurement, I made use of an inch and half respectively.
Join the 1 inch drawn backward and the half inch made under the divided armhole together at the bust point which is the nipple measurement from the shoulder to nipple. The half inch made above the divided armhole is joined to the normal nipple-nipple measurement which is four and half.
trace the pattern made with chalk, cut it out with your sciccors and join them together. You have a princess dart bustier cut which give your dress or top a perfect fitting shape .
Hello let me welcome you to the community on behalf of the whole team, we are glad that you have been encouraged to share your projects in our community.
There are some guidelines that would be good for you to read so that you feel more comfortable in the community.
Every week needleworkers from around the globe get together to share our work, patterns, tips, ideas and shortcuts as we support one another. Our goal is to inspire the Hive blockchain to give crafting a try.
On Monday’s we use the #needleworkmonday tag and on all other days we use the #needlework tag without the word Monday attached. We share and post our work directly from the Community page.
We encourage our members to share about their needlework life with us. We love hearing stories and what types of things inspired your projects. We challenge you to put some feeling and emotion into your publications and help us get to know the needler behind the fabric.
Feel free to share photos of your work but it’s optional if you choose to share the steps with us (we do require you share the step process in at least one of your posts for validation purposes). If you just want to needle and share about that time we’d love to hear about it. 😊

Thank you ~
Thanks for the information.
Hi @wummi
Do you know you could have used #diy tag for this post to earn some BUIDL tokens in addition to Hive crypto?
In case you are not aware, read this post to know the kinds of content, among others, you could post using #diy tag.
You could also use the #diy tag when you share content showcasing your DIY skills.
Because most people are not aware of the potential of BUIDL token, it can still be bought at very cheap price now.
I had the thought of using it, but I wasn't sure if I could.
This is helpful, thank you so much.
I will do that now.
Changing the tag after publishing your post doesn't help. It won't appear in https://build-it.io.
You can do that for your future posts.
Okay, thanks.
