Compost: 5 Minute Freewrite
(Edited)
I remember when I lived in the Venezuelan plains. My grandmother loved agriculture and she used to prepare compost which she had her own way of preparing it. Once I asked her and she told me that she used organic materials. And they were subjected to a process of decomposition. What I do know is that the soil became very fertile. My grandmother laughed and said that I was very curious and inquisitive. I loved to investigate everything she did in agriculture because everything she harvested was given to her.
One day I told her: "Grandma, explain to me calmly how you prepare the compost and she laughed. She took me by the hand and took me to a field where she prepared it. She explained to me that she took a space where she stored food waste, egg shells, spoiled fruit, vegetables, animal remains such as meat, bones, skin, etc., so that they would form a compost. In order for microbes to form and decompose and get very good nutrients for plants which is called compost.
I found it very interesting what my grandmother explained to me. She learned to prepare it with my grandfather Carlos. He was an expert in preparing this type of compost. The compost is very easy to prepare and does not require great expense to prepare it. It does not pollute the environment and brings many benefits. It is wonderful and at home you do not lose any of the inorganic wastes that are collected and thrown on the land prepared to start planting and producing many products that come from the earth. I remember my grandmother planting pumpkins plants, yuccas, carrots, eggplants, etc. in that land prepared with the compost. And we always had to eat at home.
