Standing strong since it was built in 2011, this building has become one of the destinations for local and foreign tourists, the purpose of building this museum is not only for education for generations but also for knowledge for the public about the existence of a kingdom that was once victorious in international trade.

During his reign, the Kingdom of Samudera Pasai succeeded in controlling the Malacca Strait which at that time became a center of international trade with pepper as one of its main export commodities. Besides pepper, the Kingdom of Samudera Pasai also exports silk and camphor.

Why did the Samudra Pasai kingdom become a center of international trade?

This is because the Samudera Pasai Kingdom became a trading center because of its strategic location near the Malacca Strait. In the 13th century, the Strait of Malacca was an international trade route through which traders from the Arabian Peninsula, India, and China passed.

The Samudera Pasai Kingdom itself experienced a heyday in the era of 1326 - 1345 AD. To be precise, when Samudera Pasai was under the reign of Sultan Ahmad Bahian Shah Malik Zahir.

The collapse of the Samudera Pasai kingdom?

One of the causes of the collapse of this kingdom is the conflict in the palace or Internal conflicts in the palace environment were caused by the power struggle between the descendants of the Sultan Pasai kingdom. This conflict is thought to have emerged since the end of the 14th century AD.
