#monomad challenge for today - In search of Rafflesia

avatar

Hello to all #monomad enthusiasts. Today I will share with you my tribute to the Rafflesia flower. In Malaysia, I was on the "hunt" for this beauty just to make sure it really is as special as they say. Well, to be honest, it is impressive and it is more likely to fungi than flowers :) Maybe because it is a parasitic plant that grows on vines. On the other hand, the smell doesn't help here at all. BTW, for those who don't know. Rafflesia arnoldii blooms into the single largest individual flower in the world, giving out a scent of rotting meat. This distinctive smell attracts insects that feed on dead flesh. It is good to know that this flower is not flowering for a long time so it is crucial to visit it when it is in a season. As our guide said, it takes only about 10 days when this flower is "decomposed". No more words, please enjoy this beauty and see you next time with another theme.
