SELF-FORGIVENESS & NEW BEGINNING

avatar

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog at this hour. It is a brand new day, brand new week and a good opportunity to work towards achieving your goals. It is not time to get discouraged but to be more motivated. Today, I will continue from where I stopped the last time on the topic, forgiveness. Forgiveness is an intentional decision to let go of the feeling of anger and the plan to revenge someone who wronged you. However, it may be more easy to forgive other people who wronged you than forgiving yourself. Well, sit back, relax and enjoy all that I have packaged for your reading pleasure.

Every human being makes mistakes, but it is somewhat hard for people to learn from their errors, move on and let go of these mistakes, rather than dwelling on it for a long time which may take a toll on their well-being. It is key to know how to practice self-forgiveness, the benefits that it offers and how to forgive your own mistakes easily. When we talk about forgiving yourself, it is not an indication that you are weak or the fact that you are turning a blind eye to a bad behavior of yours. Forgiving yourself means that you admit that you are wrong and you are willing to let go of all that have happened and move on without dwelling on something that cannot be changed.

The first step you must take in forgiving yourself is to admit that you are wrong and take full responsibility for all that has happened. This step is the most difficult - it is the stage where you try to justify your actions, make excuses in order to make it look like it is not your fault. You must be ready to accept that you are wrong, by so doing you gradually get rid of the feeling of guilt and regret of your actions.

Furthermore, due to the fact that you have accepted and admitted to take full responsibility for your actions, you may start to feel shameful for your deeds. It is quite normal to feel bad when you do something wrong, especially when you still have conscience. These feelings are healthy and will propel you to become a better person. Just the way you cannot forgive someone who hurt you without them making efforts and showing signs of remorse, it is also applicable to you when you want to forgive yourself. You must take action if necessary which include apologizing to the person you wrong or look for ways to amend what you did wrong to yourself.

No doubt about the fact that we all make mistakes but what distinguish some people from others is that they fail to fall into self hatred or self pity which could affect their self-esteem. You must learn to move on from the experience by taking time to understand why you did what you did, the necessary steps to ensure that such behavior does not repeat itself. In short, it should be a learning experience.
