FUEL SCARCITY ⛽: THE CAUSE OF UNNECESSARY PAIN AND AFFLICTION
Hello everyone and welcome to my blog at this hour. There is nothing that can be compared to convinence and comfortability in this life. It is everyone's expectations to live a comfortable and stress-free life in terms of the things that we use in our every day life. Fuel is one of them. It is important to the daily life of every human being in one way or another. There are people who need it for either their vehicles, motorcycles or generators. But what happens when it becomes extremely difficult to purchase fuel even when you have the funds to buy it. Well, sit back, relax and enjoy all that I have packaged for your reading pleasure.
In the last two or three weeks there have been fuel scarcity in my city and it have been a difficult time for users of fuel considering the long hours spent on queue before you can have access to this important commodity. The reason for the scarcity which we all believed at first seem it's just a cover up of some sort because of its prolonged and unnecessary stress it's causing the public. The news that was circulated at first was that due to the aftermath of floods in a major road that fuel tankers use in conveying the fuels to my city, the tankers can't travel at that time, which means that fuel won't be available.
However, there are news that the flooded road have subsided through evaporation and probably some intervention by the government but there's still uncountable queues at gas stations in my city. It can be so tiring to plan to fuel your car and you end up spending two to three hours at the gas station. I have spent more than that in some situations and it is not an experience that is interesting at all. When you get to a particular gas station you'd see up to 50 cars on a queue waiting to buy fuel and in some cases we even wait patiently on the queue for hours even when the fuel isn't been sold as we anticipate when they'd decide to sell.
On the flip side, the black market sellers always have fuel on display for sale at exorbitant prices, obviously. These people sell fuel in jericans to commuters by the roadside with confidence whereas it was supposed to be an illegal business but there are no one to curtail them lately. In fact, they may be the reason the fuel scarcity isn't ending anytime soon because the management of some of these gas stations benefits from the deal. They charge them some amount of money before they can fill their jericans which also make them sell to the end users at high prices. It is some sort of cool deal that brings in extra cash for them, so they may be indirectly facilitating the continous need for fuel to be scarce at the expense of the public.
These black market sellers are lifesavers to a lot of people especially people who have urgent appointments or engagement to attend to who can't stay for hours at the gas station. They have no choice than to buy the fuel at double the normal price. They'd rather pay more to fuel their car than missout on an important appointment. Well, there are people who have the funds to buy at the high price as well whether or not they have an important or urgent place to go. It's a crazy situation that I'm still at the gas station as I write this post....
