FORCED FRIENDSHIP AREN'T WORTH YOUR TIME

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog at this hour. Human beings are social beings, and from time to time we tend to long for friendship. It is not possible to live in isolation, we need companions - people to talk to, share our thoughts and experiences with on a daily basis. However, as important as friendship is, it gets difficult to find genuine friends who we share similar dreams and visions. So many times, we get lost in the pleasure that friendship offers so much that we lose track of our aspirations in life. There are some set of friends that are only in one's life to promote only recreational and fun activities while they blind you from pursuing your life goals. There may be some times when you are confused about the intention of your so-called friends because they are not relating to you the way you do - progressively.

There are actually some pointers to look out for if you wish to know if someone is truly your friend or otherwise.

Let's look at them one after the other:

You may have to consider your friendship with someone who you always reach out to first all the time. Undeniably, we are all busy with our lives with so many preoccupation but you may need to consider if your friend is truly your friend if you have to call, text or visit all the time. If the person see you as a friend, irrespective of how busy he or she is, there will still be some free hours when they can get in touch with you. A genuine friend that have your interest at heart will go any length to hear from you especially during trying moments no matter how busy they are.

Similarly, you may be getting a signal that your friendship is not appreciated when the response you get from your friend seems unenthusiastic. Let's say you are texting and you get one-word responses, or very late responses, these are signs that it may be a forced friendship and you may have to discontinue it. Friends are supposed to share ideas and thoughts with each other with so much love and enthusiasm, but anything short of that without any reasonable reason should not be considered. If your friend is always sounding like they'd rather be doing something else than talking to you, then you need to look elsewhere for genuine friends.
Friends are supposed to relate with each other in a cool manner, sharing jokes and speak to each other in a playful manner but you can conclude that a person have a very little interest in your friendship if they are overly formal with you and they speak with you using straight faces and expressions that do not show friendliness. These could be for reasons that they believe you're not of the same class or status with them. They might not tell you outrightly but it will show in their behavior.

Some other signs may include:

they avoid you by all means
they talk about their own interests all the time without giving you room to share your thoughts
they always talk you down (jokingly) in the midst of other people

Friendship is an important part of our existence and this is the reason we should be around people who genuinely care about us. The people who are willing to sacrifice their time, and money for you. The same way you can not be friends with everyone, the same is applicable to others too, everyone can not be your friend too. So, you must be able to decipher your true friends, appreciate and stick with them.
