DON'T ABUSE YOUR KIDS PHYSICALLY, OR EMOTIONALLY UNDER THE GUISE OF DISCIPLINE
Hello everyone and welcome to my blog at this hour. Children come into this world without having knowledge about anything whatsoever, it is the responsibility of parents to teach them the necessary skills they need to know, help them to understand their talents and teach them what is right and what is wrong. Discipline is a tool that is employed to ensure that kids do not repeat certain habits or actions again, however, this must not lead to any form of child abuse. Well, sit back, relax and enjoy all that I have packaged for your reading pleasure.

The reason most people discipline their kids is to teach them some life lessons and to be sure that they learn, in other words, children do not have a choice to say no to what is being taught. It is mandatory. It is great to teach children what is believed to be an acceptable way of behaving and enforcing it but most people cross the line by punishing their kids. Punishment have the tendency of becoming abuse especially when their is no proper regulation. It is right to scold your kid or deprive them of certain things (for a while) when they do things that are not acceptable but it is gradually becoming child abuse when you hit them so hard like a professional boxer will do to his opponent.
Parents need to decipher the difference between discipline and child abuse so that they don't leave a lasting wrong impression on their kids throughout their lifetime. A parent is abusing his or her child when he or she uses an object or hand to hit the child, kick, or restrain the child from moving around by locking up in a room for several hours or days. Also, if a parent uses words or expressions to make the child lose his or self-worth either by body shaming, using abusive names, and so on, it is a form of child abuse.
In a bid to "discipline" a child some parents deprive them of the basic needs such as food, shelter, education etc. There are parents who will send their kids out of the house because they come home late or steal from the pot. This is wrong for the mental health of the child, it is better to use other form of punishment that will show that you care about them but you dislike their actions.
There are some techniques that can be used to discipline children that are safer and effective than punishing them. For instance, a child that you have told to always wear his slippers when he's going out of the house may understand the importance of this when he goes out barefooted and a sharp object injures him. In some other case, a child that refuse to study will feel bad when he sees his colleagues excellent performances. However, this should be practiced when it is safe for the child. It is not that because you have told your child not to play with a knife or fire, then you leave them to hurt themselves with it. It may cause more damage than you can control on the long run.
