DIY Classy Corporate Trousers

Having a corporate trouser in your wardrobe is a necessity for a walking class lady and having one that speaks elegance and gives off class is a plus.

Here is a tutorial on how to make this classy corporate trouser;

In making this outfit I made use of a size 14 measurement with a hip of 43 inches, a waistline of 32 inches and a full length trouser of 44 inches not forgetting the crotch length of 29 inches.

A soft and weighty fabric was used to achieve the drape by the side. I made use of a light brown fabric to ensure a focus on the design rather than its piercing brightness.

The front and back pattern was placed together with an added 5 inches by the side to get the fold on the side without a pocket.

After cutting it I weaved the rims, sewed the darts first before joining the back part together and then sewing the legs together.

Here is the joined parts

The front zip was sewn next.

Then I slanted the excess sides created by exactly one and a half inches below the front dart.

Measuring the waist I cut out the waistband.

I doubled the height of the waist making 4 inches on an airstay then divided it in two with a chalk as seen below.

Using a curve ruler I joined the midpoint of the fold to the upper part. This will allow the waist belt to sit perfectly on the waist making them one.

Then I cut out the excess edge by half an inch as seen below.

Then I pressed the cut-out air stay on the folded fabric and left an allowance of half inches around it as seen below as well as another face without the airstay;

After sewing it by the slimmer edge I turned it around. Sewed the rims for a belt as seen below;

Attaching the rims to the trouser

I sewed it down before attaching the waist

Here is a video for a better understanding of how to sew it below;

Viola!
