Weekend ride - Motorcycle riding.
Hey friends, how was your weekend, mine was busy, on Saturday I went for a ride with a friend on a motorcycle to a tourist site in the city and the truth was very fun and a very cool moment, since her motorcycle is relatively new and to ride with friends she likes it as much as I do.
Sunday was a little more busy, I went by motorcycle to the countryside, it rained heavily in the morning, but to such an extent that I could not return until today and as I had classes I had to come early in the morning and leave the bike there and come in the car with my dad, it took about 4 hours on the road, from 5am because the road was in a terrible state.
We went to the monument Manto de Maria, a religious tourist site of the city, but we met before in the shopping center Las Trinitarias, there we went straight to the site without stopping and at a low speed, because my partner does not know how to drive very well to say. This monument was closed for a long time, and they reopened it to the public in a strict schedule, even before it was possible to enter since there was no surveillance and it did not have a gate, but now it even has a small surveillance office.
To enter we paid 1.5$ entrance fee and left the motorcycles in the parking lot, we started to walk and we realized that there were also small food shops, something that did not exist before (I had a long time without going), there they sell candy, ice cream, cakes, small portions of food, soft drinks and other things.
The tour of the facilities involves climbing up to the viewpoint, and this monument has a height of over 60 meters, it is said to be the tallest Marian monument in the world, plus everything has a story behind its construction, for example it was delivered as a finished work in 2016, as a gift for the visit and procession 160 of the Virgin Divina Pastora. On each mezzanine or level the tour guides tell us a little about the history of the procession, why it began, in what year, and then tell us about the construction, what meaning each piece has, besides telling us that this is a kinetic art since it moves as we change angles.
The number of steps we climb, the types of tubes that make up the work, put together they add up to the walk from the church of Santa Rosa to the Cathedral of Barquisimeto, all with respect to this they let us know.
Finally after the tour we can go up to the viewpoint and stay for a limited time, as there are other groups of people who go up with the guides for the same route.
We were here a little more than 40 minutes and we saw our city, the city of Cabudare and in the distance the University.
Being again at the bottom, we bought ice cream that cost 1$ each, they also had waffles at 2x1$ and quesillos at 1.5$, we were here also for 30 min more and took some pictures there, the zip line is something that stopped working, literally 3 days after I got on it, one person died because of the fall and they never used it again. What they put nearby instead are swings and swings up and down.
We left before it got darker, but before that we took some goodbye pictures and taught the newbie how to ride a different bike (mine). To my surprise when I got home there was no light and it was a process to store the bike like that.
Sunday started at about 4:30 am, I do not remember the time, I only know that I took a coffee and I left like that, of course my dad was behind in the truck, but it was too cold on the road and everything was very dark, when I turned off the light of the bike, I could not see anything, but on the way it dawned and it became easier for me.
Shortly after arriving it began to rain so incredible, since there was no weather and it was an intense rain, the road where we arrived looked like a river, the thunder damaged the wiring or a transformer and the power went out all Sunday, and I had no battery to record all that odyssey, I used my dad's phone but it is lousy with the resolution.
I took pictures of some mushrooms growing because of the humidity in the soil, since it has been drizzling days and cloudy afternoons, I never thought I would see them here because it is a very arid area.
See you next weekend.
