We went on a trip to the dam on a rainy day.

Hey how are you friends, a long time without posting and being here with you, but this time we are going again with a weekend adventure, on a Saturday in which we coincided in the same time of the week for our day off, I went with a friend and colleague from work to have a little extreme route to a dam near my city.
Curiously we had been planning this trip for weeks, even a couple of months, because I had to ask for a weekend off and he had to do the same but without them suspecting at work that we were going to go on a route, when we finally made it it rained incredibly the night before.

So let's go with the adventure.

Well first of all as I mentioned in my job we have days off during the week, but very few weekends, so we had to ask for a change of day to be able to go on the weekend as my friend's girlfriend and my university colleague can only go out on Saturdays or Sundays, When we were finally able to make the trip, it rained all night, however in the morning it was cloudy with rainy weather but we decided to take the risk and go like this, hoping that in the other city we were going to it would be sunny because the journey was 1h 20min or a little more.
In the morning we finished buying food for breakfast and to eat on the spot, we met in the centre of the city and we left even though it was starting to drizzle, I had a feeling it would be very cold so I took a jacket with me.

We left as fast as possible, but 30 or 40min after driving on the road we were completely stopped by the rain, we couldn't see anything and it was unbearable to drive, so we decided to stop at a gas station to have breakfast and wait for the rain to stop, or at least that's what we thought.

We were completely innocent because for a few minutes the sky was so clear that even the sun came out of nowhere, and we decided to continue like this, because we were already half way and we continued.
The most serious mistake was that, because from here on the rain was twice as intense, so much so that we did not exceed 50km/h because we could not see anything and also the road was very wet and it was dangerous to run like that, so we went relatively slow.
We got too wet I would say, but after 40 minutes more riding we finally arrived at our destination, here comes the funny thing, it had also rained but not much, and the park rangers thinking that there would be no visitors did not open the gate.

For a moment we looked at each other with a clown face and said "what did we do" this is closed, but we went in and talked to the park rangers on duty and they didn't let us through because we were coming from a neighbouring city too far away for the weather conditions.
The funny thing is that when we got off Valeria, who is my friend's girlfriend, took off her boots and literally took out 1L of water from those boots, incredible the amount of water she had and how wet we were.

Being in the facilities of the place, I found everything very nice, I honestly did not expect that they were so well preserved, because I had already visited this place with my dad when I was about 11 years old. I didn't remember much about the place, but they have provided space for the public, sand volleyball courts, toilets, cabins, dredges for the maintenance of the banks of the reservoir, places to barbecue and small recreational parks within the same place.
There is even a path where there is a 4km walk, there are cane fields where you can eat, rest, it is the family part, so to speak.

The main plan was to go for a swim, but it was still a bit cold and foggy in the place, so we didn't do it, but we walked around the facilities completely, and sat down to eat, talk about work, about the university, to have a nice time really.
Here they have nurseries of emblematic trees of the state and the country, it's a kind of conservation.

It should be noted that here you can practice wingsurfing, kayaking and canoeing, but you have to warn in advance to those responsible to bring the right equipment, it really is not so expensive and it is an experience worth living.
On the other hand, the entrance fee for vehicles is about 1$, and they tell you where to leave them parked, you can not enter the bottom with them.

And most importantly, here there are species of fish, such as the pavón or tucunare, catfish, cachama among others, according to which fishing is prohibited, but I doubt very much that these laws are enforced.

So once here the sun finally came out, after the storm, we even considered swimming and everything but it was getting late to return, because we had lost more than 1 hour on the way, and we left much later than planned from home.
I brought a snorkel and a life jacket but we didn't use them, we agreed to come back soon but on a hot day.

We finally said goodbye to the staff and returned home at 1pm, where again on the road just entering our city the rainy and stormy day we had left behind was waiting for us.
